Change of scenery has been a constant throughout Vincent Hoogewijs’ hotel career. From Bangkok to Tokyo, Mumbai to Mexico, Canberra to Rabat, he has held executive level positions in more than a dozen countries, feeding a hunger for travel, curiosity for culture, and passion for the industry along the way. Now, continuing his long career with Four Seasons, Hoogewijs makes the move from his most recent post at Four Seasons Hotel Amman in the Middle East back to Europe as Regional Vice President and General Manager of Four Seasons Hotel London at Ten Trinity Square.

“I’m excited to be back in the UK with my family at a significant time for the Hotel. Since the opening there are still a lot of new developments taking place at Ten Trinity Square,” he says in reference to the 2018 launch of the new Residences. “We are introducing a new level of luxury accommodation to our local area in the City. It’s an exciting time for the Hotel and a great opportunity to show that we are continuing to evolve and we are passionate about delivering the best possible experience for our guests, whether for the short or longer-term.”

With three restaurant outlets, a Private Members’ Club with its own dining facilities and a busy banqueting and events department, Belgian-born Hoogewijs is putting his background and experience in food and beverage to good use. Having started his career in restaurants, Hoogewijs eventually moved into hotel operations with Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts, accepting his first role with Four Seasons Hotel Bangkok in 2004 as Hotel Manager. Following this initial post, Hoogewijs moved from Sydney to Mumbai and Mexico, before returning to lead the team at Four Seasons Hotel Bangkok once more as Regional Vice President and General Manager.

The move back to London, where Hoogewijs lived earlier in his career, is also satisfying for the opportunity for Hoogewijs and his wife, Reinhilde Poedts, and their children, Tom and Elle, to be closer to home. Though he has enjoyed many years of travelling and living in Asia and the Middle East, Hoogewijs enjoys simple pleasures in London such as walking in his local neighbourhood, going to farmer’s markets and enjoying a beer in a traditional English pub.

Hoogewijs is still passionate about food and beverage and enjoys cooking at home with his family. Other hobbies include playing squash and cycling on weekends, and hiking and fishing at each new destination he visits. Like most Belgians, he is multi-lingual, and travel has always very much been a part of his lifestyle.

Indeed, Hoogewijs’ role as Regional Vice President sees him continue to oversee other properties within the Four Seasons portfolio. “I’m happy to retain my existing responsibilities as a Regional Vice President but taking on a new challenge in London at Ten Trinity Square,” says Hoogewijs.
