After much experience as a hotelier and an undeniable impact across multiple Four Seasons properties, Beverly Magee’s return to Austin is both long awaited and celebrated. The city serves as both the beloved home of her alma mater, University of Texas at Austin, and the Hotel in which she spent many pivotal years on her path to becoming a Regional Vice President. Beverly is a rare Four Seasons General Manager whose rise did not take her through the rooms or food and beverage departments, an anomaly that would prove to be instrumental in her ability to connect with her teams and guests alike.

Born and raised in Houston, Beverly had no thoughts of a hotel career while earning a degree in communications. That all changed when she pursued an opportunity at the concierge desk of Four Seasons Hotel Houston. “I fell in love with hotels right from the start,” she remembers, adding that the romance only intensified when she transitioned to sales in the late 1980s. As competitive as she is communicative, Beverly dove right in and was promoted in 1998 to Director of Sales at the former Four Seasons Olympic Hotel in Seattle until the property switched hands to another hotel group in 2003. When Four Seasons returned to Seattle in 2008, Beverly would move back into the fold as Director of Sales and Marketing overseeing the sales, catering, marketing, public relations, and reservations teams.

In true Beverly fashion, she was persistent in her desire for growth and joined the team at Four Seasons Hotel Austin as Hotel Manager in 2014. Her transition from sales and marketing to operations was as smooth as silk as she was always well versed in the Four Seasons experience. “I’m still selling that luxury experience, but now I get to have a direct impact on the team delivering it.” During Beverly’s first stint in Austin, she oversaw a top-to-bottom renovation of the Hotel and significantly improved guest and employee satisfaction scores. During this time, she fell back in love with her college hometown, a foreshadowing that would all but guarantee her return to the Texas capital. However, Charm City came calling first, and she made the transition to serve as General Manager of Four Seasons Hotel Baltimore in 2018.

With her return to the Lone Star State in early 2022, she embodies the key pieces of Four Seasons brand (with some authentically Austin nods) that make the guest experience so iconic. “There is so much optimism and excitement in Austin right now, and the Hotel is poised beautifully to complement the expansion and energy throughout the city,” says Beverly.

Beverly is vital to the growth of the Hotel and gets involved in all aspects of the guest, resident, and employee experience. She is intertwined in the fabric of the Hotel and it is not uncommon to find her chatting with guests in the lobby and moments later lending a hand to the housekeeping or banquets teams as needed. “It’s about knowing our teams and leveraging their strengths. My role is to help them realize their full potential. That is how we exemplify world-class quality in everything we do,” Beverly states.

Her contributions and steady leadership were recognized in February 2021 with her promotion to Regional Vice President where in addition to Four Seasons Hotel Austin, she oversees Four Seasons Hotel New York Downtown, Four Seasons Hotel Silicon Valley at East Palo Alto, Four Seasons One Dalton Street in Boston, and Four Seasons Hotel New Orleans.

Married to her high school sweetheart John, a 30-year retired Captain in the Fire Department, Beverly loves travelling – especially to Seattle to see her twin daughters, Hayley and Abby – as well as hiking, spinning, Orange Theory Fitness and sailing with friends in the British Virgin Islands.
