To start, Taipa Grande Viewing Platform offers a panoramic view overlooking Taipa village and Cotai Strip, while the Taipa Houses located steps away is a museum complex consisting of houses displaying life during the city’s earlier history. Passing through an outdoor garden and up a hill is Our Lady of Carmel Church, a Neoclassical religious structure. Yik Long Fireworks Factory gives a glimpse into Macao’s firecracker industry during its rapid development in the 1920s. On the same street as the factory is the oldest Temple in Taipa, Tin Hau Temple, existed since 1785. For coffee lovers and shopaholics, Calçada do Quartel has some of Macao’s coolest cafés and one-of-a-kind boutiques. Finally, the route ends at Pak Tai Temple, built 160 years ago paying tribute to a deity with divine power to withstand floods and fire.
