This festive season, Naviva, A Four Seasons Resort invites guests to gather in ways both celebratory and deeply personal. Across 48 acres (19 hectares) of coastal forest and home to just 15 ocean-view luxury tented bungalows, Season of Gathering unfolds through shared meals, fireside rituals, days in the Pacific and traditions of the season expressed through the flavours, ingredients and customs of Mexico.

Days are free to take their own shape, from a morning swim in the Pacific or temazcal ceremony to an afternoon by the pool or an unexpected adventure, with plenty of room for spontaneity along the way.

Thanksgiving: Gathering in Gratitude

For Thanksgiving, Naviva turns gratitude into a ritual woven throughout the stay. Upon arrival, guests receive a handmade journal by local artisan Javiera Pintocanales, with handwritten prompts appearing during evening turndown to invite reflection on what has nourished them, who has shaped their year and what they hope to make space for next.

The holiday culminates with a vibrant communal Thanksgiving Feast at Copal Cocina, Naviva’s open-air restaurant, bringing guests together around the table to share a celebratory meal inspired by the flavors of Mexico. Afterwards, the gathering moves fireside for the Gratitude Bonfire, where guests can offer written reflections to the flames in a symbolic gesture of gratitude, release and renewal.

December Holidays: Connecting Through Tradition

Throughout December, the season reveals itself through the details: the scent of copal and cacao in the air, seasonal dishes emerging from the kitchen, ponche shared fireside and music filling Copal Cocina, as the day gives way to one of Naviva’s vivid Pacific sunsets.

At the heart of the season is The Wish Tree, a ritual that invites guests to leave a handwritten wish or intention for the year ahead. Softly illuminated in the evening, the tree gradually becomes a collection of hopes shaped by everyone who gathers beneath it.

Seasonal touches appear throughout the day. Tuba, Naviva’s welcome beverage, takes on notes of pear and cinnamon, while evenings at Cocina Copal are accompanied by live acoustic music. Guests can also step into experiences rooted in the region, from an energizing Mexican boxing session to a raicilla tasting beside Naviva’s traditional Filipino raicilla oven, connecting each pour to the time-honored process behind the spirit. On Nochebuena, Christmas Eve in Mexico, guests gather for a dinner of moles, tamales and seasonal specialties, followed by ponche and Mexican hot chocolate around the fire.

On Christmas Day, the celebration continues over dinner, accompanied by acoustic interpretations of holiday classics. The rest of the day remains open: a swim in the Pacific, birdwatching among the coastal forest or an afternoon by the pool.

New Year’s: Celebrating With Intention

The final morning of the year begins at Risco Terrace, where guided meditation and sound healing overlooking the Pacific invite a moment of stillness surrounded by nature.

By evening, the energy shifts, building over a lively communal New Year's Eve dinner before the night moves to the beach for a bonfire and fireworks beneath the night sky.
