It’s never too early to learn the basics of good skin care or the health benefits of relaxation. The new Junior Spa Menu at Four Seasons Resort Seychelles showcases natural ingredients and a gentle approach to help guests as young as six develop an early understanding of holistic healing – and there’s not a chocolate bath in sight.

“Indulgent treatments are all very appealing,” explains Gretchen Hessinger, the Resort’s director of spa. “But it’s important to educate children that spas are the key to a range of health benefits that far exceed pure pampering.”

The new menu features nine dedicated treatments ranging from Sweet Feet – one of two treatments suitable for six year olds – to Totally Teen. There are also therapies designed for children to take with their parents to encourage bonding through shared discovery. Each treatment uses the naturally derived products of Sodashi alongside a unique blend of local herbs and spices. To help develop responsibility for their own well-being, the menu addresses children directly in language simple enough for them to read themselves.

“Developing a healthy lifestyle from an early age is a vital life lesson,” continues Hessinger. “Tailored spa visits can help teach children how to combat stress, optimise health and how relaxing and looking after their bodies can also help look after their minds.”

Featured in Condé Nast Traveller’s Hot List Spas 2010, the Spa at Four Seasons Resort Seychelles is a haven of serenity perched 80 metres (262 feet) above the idyllic Petite Anse Bay. Eight individual treatment rooms high in the tropical canopy reflect the Resort’s award-winning treetop design, with soaring ocean and jungle views that elevate guests to a higher state of being even before their treatment has begun. Alongside the Junior Spa Menu, new adult treatments launching this summer include Child of the Earth, a unique medley of hair, body and foot therapies using the natural bounty of the surrounding forests to balance and strengthen from head to toe.
