Gastronomy Month at Four Seasons Hotel Astir Palace Athens

March heralds a month of culinary heaven at the award-winning Hotel
March 5, 2024,
Athens, Greece

Masterful Michelin-starred co-creation at Pelagos. Greek Easter feasting at Taverna 37 and blissful brunch at Mercato. With a tantalising range of seasonal and collaborative dining experiences, March is set to be a glorious gastronomical month at Four Seasons Astir Place Hotel Athens

Whipping up a storm of Michelin-starred creativity, Pelagos restaurant (Greek for “ocean”) sees the return of its Friends of Pelagos series. On March 26 and 27, 2024, guests can enjoy the artistry of French chef Emmanuel Renaut and Chef de Cuisine George Dospras from Lauda restaurant in Andronis Boutique Hotel, Santorini.

Bringing the skills that have earned him three Michelin-stars and a Meilleur Ouvrier de France (Best Craftsman of France) to Athens for the first time, Emmanuel Renaut and the talented George Dospras are delighted to partner with Pelagos’ Michelin-starred Chef Luca Piscazzzi and his team to showcase sensorial Mediterranean flair in a special co-created menu.

At EUR 170 per person, the menu is a thrilling call-and-response between the culinary artists. Lauda expresses the idyllic Aegean-island landscape of Santorini in dishes such as lamb with eggplant tart and tarragon; and lobster with gnocchi, vegetables and kakavia. Pelagos playfully answers from the glittering Athens Riviera with flavourful spinialo with cold calamarata pasta and bell pepper; and turbot with cavolo nero, lovage, cinnamon, and mukrat lime.

Taverna 37

On March 7, 2024, the Hotel’s lively Taverna 37 marks Greek Carnival season – Apokries – with a fiesta of fabulous feasting and familial warmth led by Chef Alexandros Koskinas. Running from lunchtime until 11:00 pm, the traditional Tsiknopempti (Smoky Thursday) event showcases sharing dishes alongside sizzling BBQ favourites for EUR 80 per person.

An Ash Monday family-style set menu of lively appetisers, vibrant salads and seafood including calamari, cuttlefish, and mussels is available on March 18, 2024 at EUR 95 per person while a special dish of baccaliaro skordalia (cod fritters) celebrates Greek Independence Day on March 25, 2024.

In honour of Ash Monday, the first day of Lent, Mercato will be offering a delicious seafood brunch menu on March 18, 2024 at EUR 110 per person. From fine de claire oysters and spicy seabass carpaccio from the Seafood and Raw Bar to octopus salad, spaghetti with lobster, Easter soup and more, the menu is a heartfelt celebration of the season’s abundance, paired with glittering views of the Athens Riviera.
