Renowned as the legendary hangout of Brigitte Bardot, Jackie Onassis and Frank Sinatra, the storied Four Seasons Astir Palace Hotel Athens has been a silent witness to love since its original opening in 1961 and remains an Athens Riviera icon for modern-day matches of all types.

In celebration of Valentine’s Day 2024, three unique events welcome couples, singles, friends and family groups to honour love, life and living – and to help write the next chapter of the Hotel’s enduring legacy of relationship landmarks.

Unchartered Waters at Pelagos

Re-opening for the season on Valentine’s Day, Pelagos will be marking the day of love with a six-course tasting menu – with optional wine pairing – starting with Pelagos canapés accompanied by Taittinger Rosé Brut Champagne. Highlights include a Red Prawn Tartare, paired with a Chilean Sauvignon Blanc Expresión Reserve; a Turbot Farci with Black Truffle, Clams and Chorizo Oil; and a Mascarpone Cloud with Raspberry, Rose and Batak Berries, accompanied by a Niepoort Tawny Port 10Y from Portugal’s Douro Valley.

Named after the Greek word for “ocean” and renowned for its rule-breaking innovation, Pelagos has been making waves with its cutting-edge locavore-focused creativity since 2021—earning its first Michelin star within six months of opening. “Pelagos is a celebration of love and adventure at sea,” comments laser-focused Head Chef Luca Piscazzi. “Our special Valentine’s menu is intimate and mysterious, reflecting the depth and complexity of love, and the exploration of uncharted waters in relationships.”

Generous Italian Heart at Mercato

At the Hotel’s sophisticated waterfront trattoria, Mercato, Valentine’s diners will be treated to a jubilant celebration of Italy: its spirited people, vibrant colours, rich flavours and generous heart. The bold six-course Valentine’s Night menu includes Tuna and Caviar; a Carpaccio of Beetroot, Goat Cheese and Endive; Wagyu Beef with Foie Gras and Potato Mille Feuille; and to finish Frutti di Bosco – a Chocolate Crème and Berries Compote. There is also a Vegetarian menu including Rapa Rossa e Caprino (Carnaroli, Beetroot and Champagne) and Cavolfiore e Mela (Cauliflower in a Port Wine Sauce with Apples).

“This menu is my homage to the enduring passion and romance of Italy, a true testament to Mercato’s deep roots in Italian markets, rejuvenated and enriched with modern twists for contemporary love stories,” comments Mercato maestro and Sicilian native Chef Sergio.

Modern Love Mixology at Avra

Relaunched in May 2023, Avra is a sea-view hotspot famed for its seasonal cocktails, great DJs, Sunday Club collaborations with guest cocktail masters from the World’s 50 Best Bars, and laidback celebration of life’s good times. Where better to celebrate Valentine’s Day than the place that best understands the art of mixology and the unbridled essence of joie de vivre?

From 7:00 pm until late, February 14’s “Avra For All” event warmly welcomes singles, couples, friend and family groups to honour life, love and living in all its heartfelt wondrous ways.  Headed by modern-day alchemist Manon Kapfer, the vibe is high, with Avra’s Valentine’s Drinks Menu the perfect example of the bar’s trademark innovative blend of flavours and boundary-pushing takes on cocktail classics.
