An icon of innovation in the birthplace of democracy, Four Seasons Astir Palace Hotel Athens is heeding the call of International Women's Day (IWD) 2025: to "accelerate action" for global equality. At the heart of the Hotel's IWD events is Avra Bar's first Great Sunday Club of the year, an extended event held in partnership with Celebrate Her - a global community to support women in the drinks sector. Spanning engaging conversations, creative cocktails, and shared experiences, it will raise a glass to trailblazing women while fostering a more inclusive industry. Elsewhere, a curated pairing experience at Astron, and special spa package celebrate the essence of elegance and self-care.

Great Sunday Club at Avra: Accelerate Action - The Women Who Make Our Industry

Celebrate Her and Avra unite on Sunday, March 9, 2025 to connect and celebrate women in hospitality during an inspiring networking event from 3:30 to 4:30 pm in the Hotel's Nafsika Conference Room. Exploring IWD's 2025 theme "Accelerate Action," Avra's Bar Manager Manon Kapfer and Anna Sebastian (Anna Sebastian Hospitality and Celebrate Her) will host a TED Talk-style panel with a dynamic lineup of industry insiders open to all: Manal Ouardane (Twist de Naranja); Aurelie Panhelleux (CopperBay, Paris); Eleni Nikoloulia (Academy Chair @50bestbars and Founder of Athens Rum Whisky Festival) and Phaedra Kali (Trainer). From 5:00 pm, the event will continue at Avra Bar with the first Great Sunday Club of 2025: an all-female line-up of global mixology talent including Agapi Petropoulou (A for Athens); Georgia Georgakopoulou (Etiquette Clumsies); Aurelie Panhelleux (CopperBay), Manal Ouardane (Salmon Guru) and Avra's Manon Kapfer. Expect a choice ten exemplary cocktails supported by Axia Mastiha Spirit, Straydog Wild Gin & Merlet with entertainment by Christos Sotiropoulos.

Prioritise Self Care

Recognising that women so often put others first, the Hotel is also offering a value-added Spa package across the IWD weekend, from Friday, March 7 to Sunday, March 9, 2025. Blossom & Balance delivers an indulgent immersion in heartfelt self-care for EUR 150 per person. A 50-minute Rythmos Signature Facial combines an enriching aloe mask, specialised facial tools, and lifting techniques with Bioaroma’s cold-pressed rose oil made from hand-picked rosa centifolia blossoms. The package also includes access to the Spa’s Fountain House facilities, including aroma steam grotto, chill showers, sauna, hammam and indoor pool.

Indulge in Elegance at Astron

Available from Friday, March 7 to Sunday, March 9, 2025, the buzzing sea-view haven of Astron is celebrating the might and meaning of women this IWD with a curated pairing experience: a choice of one dish and one drink for EUR 50. The Bloom Cocktail is a floral twist on the Cosmopolitan, blending vodka, apple, cranberries, liquorice, hibiscus, and lemon, served over ice. The Bloom Mocktail combines the same refreshing flavours without alcohol, while bubbly sophistication comes via a glass of fine Champagne. Dishes include the buttery Lobster Brioche, and Sourdough Toast with zingy zucchini, tomato, pickled onion, avocado, and smoky tofu bacon. There’s also the option to combine the Astron and Spa IWD packages for EUR 200 per person for a luxurious International Women’s Day treat.

Celebrate Her

Celebrate Her is a global community and has been run as a non-profit organisation since 2020 to address the lack of visibility and support for women in the hospitality drinks industry. The aim is to create a safe, welcoming space with a focus on community, education and career, safety and wellness, and events for women in the hospitality industry. Celebrate Her is represented in 32 countries and has more than 500 women in the community worldwide.

It runs a financial grant program providing financial support to women who are looking to improve their career via education.
