Crafted in Greece: Four Seasons Astir Palace Hotel Athens Celebrates a Summer of Culture, Craftsmanship and Coastal Living
From the Aegean-lapped Athenian Riviera, Four Seasons Astir Palace Hotel Athens unveils Crafted in Greece, a celebration of culture, cuisine and craftsmanship inspired by the timeless spirit of Greek summers. From June 2026, guests are invited to discover Greece through authentic, hands-on cultural encounters and dining experiences shaped by the rhythms of local life.
A pine-flanked hideaway just 30 minutes from the energy of the city, Four Seasons Astir Palace Hotel Athens has long occupied a unique place within Greece’s luxury landscape. Since first emerging as the glamorous retreat of the international jet set in the 1960s, it has remained a symbol of Riviera elegance. Today, as a Four Seasons destination ranked #17 in The World’s 50 Best Hotels, the property blends its legendary legacy with warm, authentic and effortlessly sophisticated Greek hospitality.
A Cultural Immersion
Throughout the summer season, Crafted in Greece brings this spirit to life through a series of bespoke guest experiences. Budding epicures are invited to discover market-to-table culinary journeys alongside the Hotel’s chefs, with visits to local markets, traditional cooking classes and leisurely lunches featuring regional recipes.
Additional experiences include pottery workshops with local artists celebrating one of the first storytelling art forms for ancient Greeks; Greek dance classes; guided tastings of olive oil and wine, and an introduction to Greek spirits at the Hotel’s in-the-know bar, Avra. For younger guests, the Kids Club showcases a series of playful activities such as My Name in Greek and a Greek Mythology session, offering an inspiring connection to local culture.
Whether exploring the timeless wonders of the Acropolis or the cobbled streets and shops of Plaka, guests can also immerse in Athens’ rich history, mythology and culinary culture a short drive from the Hotel. Led by the Hotel’s passionate concierge team, further off-site experiences range from private yacht cruises and sea kayaking to the Temple of Poseidon, to tours of the “suspended” Byzantine monasteries of UNESCO World Heritage site Meteora.
Tastes of Land and Sea
The Hotel’s seven restaurants and bars bring Crafted in Greece to vibrant life through culinary experiences infused with local flavours, traditions and coastal vibes. At Michelin-starred Pelagos, Chef Luca Piscazzi and team showcase carefully sourced Greek ingredients, from the freshest catch to just-picked aromatics, in playfully creative dishes. At Taverna 37, Chef Alexandros Koskinas elevates traditional taverna recipes in a laidback water’s edge setting. At Avra, award-winning Bar Manager Nikos Tachmazis unveils a new sensory-led cocktail menu shaped by Mediterranean flavours, pioneering techniques and herbs from the onsite garden.
Zolotas Beach, Reimagined
This summer also marks a renewed vision for Zolotas Beach, one of the Hotel’s most intimate and atmospheric waterfront settings. From June 18, 2026, guests can head to the hideaway haven for laidback sundowners and secluded Mediterranean dinners, grilled fresh and served on the dock. Enhancing the private beach’s distinctive sense of place are bespoke textiles and décor created by Athens-born designer Rianna and inspired by her childhood summers on the Riviera. Throughout the season, guests can explore modern Greek craftsmanship through conversations with Rianna, founder of Rianna + Nina, and a selection of exclusive pieces at the Hotel’s spa boutique.
At its core, Crafted in Greece is rooted in the traditions of philoxenia and meraki - the Greek values of heartfelt hospitality and passion in craftsmanship. From hands-on pottery classes to refined seaside dining, each experience invites guests to discover a Riviera destination deeply rooted in place, people and culture.
