A fusion of Latin American flavours including Mexican, Peruvian and Argentinian, Helios’ menu is as vibrant as its Greek sun god namesake. Sizzling hot turf and surf – Cajun seafood meets slow cooked Creekstone short rib – contrasts with zingy guacamole and refreshing salads while ceviches, tiraditos, and quesadillas receive their own Helios twist. Tacos come packed with tantalising tastes from panko shrimp with spicy mayo and mango chutney to shimeji featuring avocado slices and smoked ancho dressing. And don’t forget to leave room for Executive Sous Chef Diogenis Mavrofrydis’ signature dessert: melt-in-the-mouth churros with ice cream, chocolate sauce and dulce de leche.


Tactile textures abound at Helios. The molcajete brought to your table to make guacamole – a handmade Mexican volcanic rock version of the pestle and mortar. Cool areas shaded by verdant greenery. Perhaps one of Latin America’s most characteristic ingredients, limes feature heavily on the Helios menu, from guacamole with aromatic coriander to fragrant Mibrasa sea bass fillet with lime mayo. Bartender Christos’ favourite ingredient, the zesty lime can also be found in his devilishly delicious Floradita and Almond Caipirinha. From the piquant scent of Helios’ famous handmade spicy sauce to the unmistakable salty tang of the sea, take a deep breath in and engage the most evocative of the senses.  


Always buzzy, Helios combines the hum of conversation with playful pool sounds, happy shared laughter with the soft clink of celebratory glass on glass. Sunday afternoons from 3:00 to 5:00 pm are the time to savour uplifting summer beats from local DJ Teo Perrez while a live Latin band gets toes tapping at the same time every Monday.
