Director of Catering for Four Seasons Hotel Bahrain Bay, Meryem Rodriguez brings with her more than a decade of hospitality experience from numerous luxury brands and markets. Meryem’s excellent organisational and leadership skills aid in the planning and managing of weddings, social events, government delegations, off-site catering and events and corporate gatherings.
She is responsible for the catering operations of two ballrooms, multiple meeting rooms and outdoor event spaces with a total capacity of hosting 1,650 people and her mandate is to deliver magnificent weddings and successful business events in legendary Four Seasons style. “For a successful event to happen, you need to be a team leader, make the impossible possible, have a passion for planning and be able to use your creativity to bring a vision to life.”
Meryem cites making people happy as the most rewarding aspect of her job. “Working in catering means handling special and memorable occasions for our guests. You get to know them on a personal level and understand their needs. You also need to guide them when making decisions to ensure that the best choices are made - this is only possible if you have built up a level of trust with the guest.”
“I feel honoured to help craft memorable events for our guests. It is my responsibility to understand their vision and to interpret and deliver on their ideas. I am a master of detail and act on even the smallest item to make an event even more magical.”
Weddings at Four Seasons Hotel Bahrain Bay are an extravagant affair with flowers and decorations being sourced from all over the world, and dazzling displays of pyrotechnics lighting up Bahrain Bay. “You become part of the bride and groom’s memories and it is truly rewarding to see their happiness.”
Since she was young Meryem has been captivated by luxury hotels, particularly hotels in Paris that she stayed at with her family. She was fascinated by the service and kind hospitality she experienced. “As a young girl, I felt very sophisticated drinking coffee in the lobby. It was the attention to detail that sparked my imagination and inspired me to pursue a career in hospitality.”
Outside of work, Meryem enjoys horse riding, Marvel movies and comedies and is an avid foodie and loves nothing more than travelling to different countries to discover their cuisine
