Beverly Wilshire, A Four Seasons Hotel announces its collaboration with renowned French contemporary artist Richard Orlinski. Located in the heart of Beverly Hills at the intersection of Wilshire Blvd and Rodeo Drive, the Hotel is perfectly positioned to feature three of Richard Orlinski’s sculptures. Eight additional sculptures are unveiled along the iconic Rodeo Drive – from Santa Monica Blvd to Wilshire Blvd - for visitors and residents to view through November 2024.

“Beverly Hills has become the epicentre of art and culture. And we’re honoured to be an extension of this exhibition, which will run through the three iconic, palm-tree lined streets of the Rodeo Drive shopping district, and into our Hotel,” says Reed Kandalaft, Regional Vice President and General Manager of Beverly Wilshire. “Richard’s work is electrifying – and it’s really fun for us to incorporate such contemporary pieces into our historic Hotel.”

Located outside the Hotel sits the blue resin panda bear. Standing nearly 9 feet, Richard Orlinski simultaneously highlights the larger-than-life wild animal’s strength and gentleness by playing with his signature sharp facets against the softness of the animal by incorporating round ears, nose and stomach. In the Wilshire Wing lobby is a stainless-steel panther. Standing 4.5 feet high, the panther is a symbol of power and grace whereby its wild nature is highlighted by diamond facets that give it an aesthetic of perfection. Then on valet is Kong at 6 feet tall. Drawing inspiration from the iconic film character King Kong, this blue resin piece shows how mighty the creature is, while also seeing how it is capable of tenderness.

This exhibition marks Richard Orlinski’s first presence in Beverly Hills and the installation kicked off the beginning of Rodeo Drive Celebrates Fashion, which honours the exemplary craftsmanship, creativity and innovation in fashion that continue to distinguish Rodeo Drive among the world’s most visited luxury destinations.

“Rodeo Drive is honoured to partner with Richard Orlinksi and Beverly Wilshire to commemorate our 2nd annual Rodeo Drive Celebrates Fashion. The legendary street comes alive during the week-long celebration honouring the preservation and advancement of the intersection of luxury, fashion, and entertainment on one of the world’s leading luxury thoroughfares,” says Kay Monica Rose, president of the Rodeo Drive Committee.

Richard Orlinski began his illustrious career in 2004 with his first work: the bright red resin crocodile. Inspired by pop-culture, Richard Orlinski’s sculptures often are animals that symbolize freedom, power and passion. He uses the power of colour to make his pieces pop as well as faceted style of the larger-than-life sculpture to strengthen the features of the animals. He has collaborated with other notable brands such as Lancome, Hublot, Puma and Disney, and is currently the artist of record at the 2024 Games in Paris.

“Rodeo Drive has always been synonymous with world-class fashion and art, which is why it’s the perfect location for our newest exhibit, by world-renown artist Richard Orlinski,” says Beverly Hills Mayor Lester Friedman. “We are truly excited that these larger-than-life sculptures will bring even more excitement and energy to our iconic street and our Beverly Wilshire Hotel.”

The exhibition in the Hotel and on Rodeo Drive is up for viewing until November 2024.
