Federico Giovine is passionate about raising the profile of hospitality. His aim at Four Seasons Hotel Gresham Palace Budapest is to create a vibrant environment that people wish to join. Understanding that excellent customer service is the result of a motivated team, he always strives to bring the best version of himself into his role.

His motto is to lead by example. “When I got promoted for the very first time, I asked my manager, how I can thank him. He said, 'don’t worry, soon you’ll be on my side of the chair and you will be in a position to do this for others. If you want to pay me back, support others.'”

He acquired a complete overview of the organization through various roles, enabling him to balance between short-term and long-term goals and evaluate emerging opportunities via both lenses. Now at the Art Nouveau palace as Hotel Manager, Giovine is building further on nurturing talent as one of his key focus areas. “Four Seasons provides the right environment for growth. More than anything else, I’m a hotelier. I believe in it. I enjoy it.”

Although a third-generation hotelier, Giovine did not have a particular interest in the field of hospitality at the very beginning of his career. He fell in love with the vibrant and ever-changing milieu of hotels at a later stage, when joining a small family hotel in his hometown in Buenos Aires in 2005. The same year, he applied for a position at Four Seasons as telephone operator. “My goal was to follow my passion, to work in the 'Premier League' of the industry. Since joining Four Seasons, the company is continuously giving me the opportunity to grow. Hence, almost 20 years later, I am still here.”

Most recently, he held the role of Senior Director of Rooms at Four Seasons Resort Dubai at Jumeirah Beach and Dubai Financial Centre. His efforts and strategic moves were fundamental in driving the hotel's success over the fluid times of the pandemic. The challenges of uncertainty had to be handled with special attention to make sure his teams felt comfortable during this period. “If we are able to create a true sense of belonging in our teams, raising the bar is a lot more feasible, fun and exciting.”

“When looking at the destinations I have worked in, I’ve been very fortunate. Buenos Aires, where I come from and where I started, is an amazing city. Seychelles is a beautiful island and working in a remote location was a new type of challenge. Prague, my first experience in the eastern side of Europe was again astonishing. From there I moved to Lisbon, and I enjoyed it so very much. After these years I transferred to the UK, then to Dubai, Middle East. I’ve been very lucky and I'm so happy to discover Budapest.”
