Salil has always been drawn towards the world of hospitality, the energy, the people, and the ability to create memorable experiences. Having started his career in hotel operations, which gave him a strong foundation in understanding the guest journey, he soon became interested in the strategic side of the business: driving demand, positioning a brand, and building sustainable revenue streams. “That curiosity led me into commercial roles, and I haven’t looked back since,” he says.

Salil’s commercial philosophy is simple: start with the guest, always. Leading commercial teams through challenging times, Salil feels being nimble and data-driven made all the difference. “Sales, marketing and revenue need to be fully aligned to create consistent, high-impact strategies that are data-driven,” he says. Working across very different markets and brands through his career has taught him the importance of being adaptable. Another aspect that underscores his drive is the trust and consistency to maintain strong relationships, understand needs, stay responsive, and co-create solutions with partners, travel trade and key accounts. “But what has shaped me the most is the belief that collaboration is key — the best results come when sales, marketing, and revenue teams work together towards a common goal,” he remarks.

Having joined Four Seasons Hotel Mumbai in 2023, Salil has had the opportunity to grow within the brand from a city hotel to resorts. “Each step has taught me something new - about leadership, about the brand, and about what true service looks like. What has been most meaningful is the culture,” he reflects, adding that the authenticity in the culture is hard to find elsewhere. While the brand sets a high bar, he feels everyone is committed to excellence, creativity, and care. “I also appreciate the global mindset paired with local nuances that allow us to be both consistent and distinct,” he adds. Here at Four Seasons Resorts Thailand, he envisions keeping the resorts at the forefront of luxury hospitality by combining data-driven strategy with strong emotional storytelling. Each destination and resort have its own identity, he insists, and the team wants to make sure that comes through clearly - whether it is while engaging with repeat guests, new-to-brand travellers, or key partners across global markets. “What ties them all together is the Four Seasons approach to service: intuitive, warm, and deeply personal,” he adds.

Salil values balance and being in the present. He tries to disconnect and recharge with his favourite hobbies: travel, discovering new cultures and cuisines, and cooking with the family. “These aspects also inspire my passion for hospitality, influencing how I approach leadership,” he remarks, “I believe being authentic and bringing your whole self to work makes you a more understanding and flexible leader.”
