Up South Pop-Up Dinner Series at Four Seasons Hotel Chicago
Four Seasons Hotel Chicago introduces the Up South Pop-Up Dinners, a new collaborative dining series that celebrates culinary excellence, community, and purpose. Launching this summer, the series spotlights and supports the Broussard Justice Foundation, the I KNEAD LOVE Workshop, and the Up South Pop-Up initiative. Each dinner will feature an intimate fine dining experience curated by some of the nation’s most acclaimed chefs, uniting guests around food and meaningful conversation.
Hosted in the semi-private dining room at Adorn Bar & Restaurant, each evening begins with a welcome reception at 6:30 pm, followed by dinner service at 7:00 pm. Guests are invited to enjoy a four-course menu created in collaboration by Four Seasons Hotel Chicago Executive Chef Franco Diaz and Executive Pastry Chef Yudith Bustos, alongside James Beard Finalist Chef Maya-Camille Broussard of Justice of the Pies, and a rotating lineup of nationally acclaimed guest chefs.
Tickets are USD 180 per person (plus tax and gratuity), inclusive of a four-course menu and welcome beverage. An optional wine pairing is available at an additional cost. Seating is limited to 40-45 guests per event, and reservations are available on OpenTable.
The series launches on June 12, 2025 with Chef Camari Mick, a four-time James Beard Awards semi-finalist for Outstanding Pastry Chef or Baker and one of Food & Wine’s Best New Chefs of 2024. As the Executive Pastry Chef of Raf’s and Musket Room in New York, Mick is known for her refined, flavour-driven desserts that blend precision with creativity.
On July 24, 2025, the spotlight shifts to Chef Ricky Moore, 2022 James Beard Award winner for Best Chef: Southeast and the visionary behind Saltbox Seafood Joint in Durham, North Carolina. Moore’s cuisine celebrates the bold, soulful flavours of coastal Carolina cooking.
Joining the lineup on August 7, 2025 is Chef Fariyal Abdullahi, a 2024 James Beard Award nominee for Emerging Chef and Executive Chef of Hav & Mar in New York. Her Afro-Caribbean–inspired, seafood-forward menu has earned widespread recognition for its boldness and cultural depth.
The series concludes on October 2, 2025 with Chef Serigne Mbaye, Executive Chef and Partner at DAKAR NOLA. Winner of the 2024 James Beard Award for Best New Restaurant, Mbaye has garnered acclaim for his modern Senegalese cuisine that marries storytelling, tradition, and refined technique.
Up South is a culinary series by Chef Maya-Camille that brings chefs from across the country to Chicago’s Avalon neighbourhood, inviting the community to connect through shared meals and conversation. Inspired by the Southern roots of many residents—descendants of the Great Migration—the series reflects how we thrive in a northern city while holding fast to our Southern sensibilities, especially around food. It celebrates the richness of the South Side and encourages Chicagoans to discover the flavour and culture of a neighbourhood too often overlooked.
