Los Angeles in Beverly Hills (Beverly Wilshire), U.S.A.

Beverly Wilshire Beverly Hills, A Four Seasons Hotel is hosting members of the prestigious Maîtres Cuisiniers de France for a special culinary celebration on Sunday, March 6, 2016. Executive Chef Thomas Bellec is teaming up with several of his fellow French Master Chefs to highlight and celebrate French cuisine through an exceptional dining experience featuring the best of French culinary arts.

One of the most envied titles that French chefs aspire to have, the Maître Cuisinier de France (Master Chef of France) belongs to one of the oldest culinary associations in the world, established in 1951 for those who seek “to preserve and spread the French culinary arts, encourage training in cuisine, and assist professional development.” Maîtres Cuisiniers de France are often given the highest classification in restaurant guides, and are regularly mentioned in the world’s leading food and travel magazines.

Diners can meet some of the French Master Chefs who are preserving and sharing French culinary classics, including Olivier Dubreuil (Venetian & Palazzo Hotel, Las Vegas), Eric Branger (JW Marriott Live/The Ritz-Carlton Los Angeles), Patrick Ponsaty (Bellamy's restaurant, Escondido), and Bruno Lopez (The Ritz-Carlton, Rancho Mirage, Palm Springs) and enjoy a taste of their talents over an evening of delicious food, wine and great conversation. The gastronomic journey begins with a welcome Champagne reception featuring a selection of canapés by the acclaimed chefs, followed by a five-course dinner with each course prepared and served by a different chef. To further elevate the experience, each course will be expertly paired with top French wines.

In 2015, Chef Bellec was deeply honoured to be named a Master Chef of France by Maîtres Cuisiniers de France. He trained under a prominent member of the organisation, the Michelin-starred Chef Henri Gaonac’h at Le Galion in Concarneau, and has always been grateful for that apprenticeship. “He was very strict and it was not always pleasant, but I realise now that it’s on you to make things pleasant or not. Every time I go back home, I thank Chef Henri.” He added, “It’s not only my duty, but my privilege to be able to pass on his French culinary heritage to my younger staff as well as our valued guests in the community.”

The Maîtres Cuisiniers de France Dinner will be held on Sunday, March 6, 2016 at Beverly Wilshire located at 9500 Wilshire Blvd. The cost is USD 175, exclusive of tax and gratuity. Space is limited. For reservations, contact Audrey.Slade@fourseasons.com or 310 385 3917.
