Grand-Hôtel du Cap-Ferrat, A Four Seasons Hotel Introduces New Afternoon Tea Created by Michelin-starred Chef Didier Aniès and Pastry Chef Gaëtan Fiard
Grand-Hôtel Du Cap-Ferrat, A Four Seasons Hotel presents its new seasonal Afternoon Tea available daily at the restaurant La Véranda or in the Eiffel Rotunda.
Jean Cocteau and Coco Chanel were among the first ones to initiate the tradition of the Afternoon Tea at the Grand-Hotel in the 1950s. Today, the Hotel’s Michelin starred Chef Didier Aniès is revisiting this ritual, adding his French touch and using the best local ingredients.
In a luxurious and relaxed atmosphere, guests can savour a selection of unique finger foods and canapés such as the pepper chutney and parmesan, ricotta and orange quenelle, herbs vinaigrette quennelle with asparagus. The sweet side is created by Gaëtan Fiard, World Champion of Sugar Arts, and features a selection of delicacies such as the vanilla raspberry millefeuille, chocolate moelleux, macaroons, madeleines, financiers and the local lemon tartlet from Menton. Upon request, guests may also taste the famous sweet chard pie, another local specialty from Nice.
This Afternoon Tea is enhanced by the lovely Côte d’Azur mild weather, which guests can enjoy outdoors on the heated terraces of La Véranda Restaurant or indoors in the beautiful Rotunda designed by Gustave Eiffel, overlooking the Mediterranean sea above the centenary Aleppo pine trees canopy.
All these “gourmandises” are displayed on a three-tier silver and Raynaud porcelain stand, accompanied by a wide selection of specialty teas by German tea brand Ronnefeldt.
