Hong Kong’s art scene explodes this November with Artropolis, the fifth annual Hong Kong Art Week hosted by the Hong Kong Art Gallery Association (HKAGA) and its prestigious member galleries.  Four Seasons Hotel Hong Kong is partnering with Hong Kong Art Week as the exclusive venue for the Art Car, a Super Formula SF13 race car transformed into a work of art with the debut of a new creation from Hong Kong-based French photographer Cyril Delettre.  In honour of the Art Car, from November 14 to 21, 2017, Blue Bar at Four Seasons will offer a unique cocktail and food pairing, Formula 2K and the Lobster Devil.

Executive Chef Andrea Accordi found plenty of inspiration in the concept of a race car brought to life through the transformative power of art.  “Being an Italian, race cars make me think of Ferrari, red, fire, luxury and power, which is why I chose lobster as the key ingredient. I wanted to bring street food into the concept, so this dish has a bit of Mexican and Thai influence. It is power for the palate with energetic ingredients such as shishito peppers, sour mango, chili bean offset by cooling avocado and barbecued corn. There is sourness and heat while still being refreshing. It is an explosion of flavours.”

To balance all that fiery flavour, bartender Kevin Kwok created the Formula 2K, a refreshing combination of gin, blue curacao, yuzu juice and mint.  Presented as a combination, the cocktail has just the right balance for the heat of the lobster.

Over Hong Kong Art Week, guests of Four Seasons Hotel Hong Kong will have the opportunity to participate in complimentary curated art gallery tours as well as receive discounted tickets to the Gallery Walk for Charity on November 21, 2017.

Hong Kong Art Week runs from November 15 to 26 with the Art Car on display from November 15 to 21, 2017.  The Lobster Devil and Formula 2K will be available at Blue Bar from November 14 to 21 for HKD 490 plus 10 percent service charge.  A portion of proceeds from the Lobster Devil and Formula 2K will go to benefit the Sovereign Art Foundation.

Hong Kong Art Week 2017 is made possible with the support of Bank of China (Hong Kong) Private Banking.

The Art Car will be on view to the public in the Lobby of the Hotel November 15-21. Blue Bar is open daily from 12:00 noon to 1:00 am Monday to Thursday and 12:00 noon to 2:00 am Friday and Saturday.
