Gary P. Baumann, Director of Catering and Conference Planning at Four Seasons Hotel Houston, Wins Prestigious Industry Honour

Gary P. Baumann, CPCE, Director of Catering and Conference Planning at Four Seasons Hotel Houston, has received the prestigious 2015 George Zell Spirit of NACE (National Association for Catering and Events) Award. Baumann accepted this award on July 14, 2015, at the NACE Experience Conference in Scottsdale, Arizona.

Baumann, who currently serves as the Immediate Past President of the NACE Foundation, was recognised for his steadfast commitment to leadership, volunteerism, mentoring, humanitarianism, and to both the local and National NACE organisations. What’s more, Baumann was spotlighted for his profound passion for and expertise in the catering industry. Named in memory of NACE member George Zell, who passed away in 2000, the Spirit of NACE Award is a tremendous honour.

Foundation of NACE President Timothy Lam, stated: “Gary Baumann is one of the most loyal supporters of the Foundation. He is dedicated to giving back and leaving a legacy. Gary is someone who definitely makes a difference and I would like to personally thank Gary for all of his work being the true visionary for the community grants program.”

Baumann’s illustrious catering career has spanned more than 25 years, during which time he has earned a reputation among Houston’s and the country’s top catering and events professionals. Gary has served in his current role with Four Seasons Hotel Houston for three years, during which time he has overseen all of the Hotel’s business, charitable, weddings and social events. Baumann has won a loyal following for his creativity, exquisite taste, attention to detail and sincere love for what he does. Baumann’s expertise knows no bounds: he choreographs events ranging from intimate gatherings to extravagant affairs.

When asked about his affinity for what he does, Baumann stated: “I have the opportunity to create the beginning of what will become a lasting family memory. I get to see a vision come to life.”
