Four Seasons Hotel Kuala Lumpur announces the appointment of John Oh as Executive Chef, overseeing the hotel’s dynamic food and beverage program along with its renowned banqueting and events division.

A bold and globally-minded culinary leader, Chef John brings more than 20 years of experience across Korea, the United States, and Vietnam. His diverse background and innovative mindset make him a natural fit for Four Seasons Hotel Kuala Lumpur, a vibrant dining destination that celebrates the city’s multicultural character.

“I’m thrilled to be part of such a rich culinary landscape and look forward to introducing exciting new flavours to our guests,” says Chef John. “Mastering local specialties in diverse markets has allowed me to adapt my craft and cater to all palates.”

Born and raised in Seoul, John was inspired early on by his mother, a restaurateur who ran a neighbourhood eatery for more than three decades. He cooked his first dish at the age of ten and never looked back. After formal training in Western cuisine, he gained professional experience both locally and abroad, including five formative years under the mentorship of renowned Italian chef Stefano di Salvo. There, he learned the value of seasonal ingredients and a thoughtful approach to fusion cuisine.

Chef John has played a pivotal role in shaping culinary operations from the ground up, having served as a pre-opening chef for three luxury hotels, including Four Seasons Hotel Seoul. Most recently, he held the role of Executive Chef at Four Seasons Resort Nam Hai, where he launched signature menus across all outlets and introduced wellness-focused dining in partnership with the Spa team.

At Four Seasons Hotel Kuala Lumpur, Chef John is bringing renewed focus to fresh, sustainably sourced ingredients and techniques that preserve their natural essence. He is also passionate about reinterpreting traditional recipes with a modern touch.

“Food is all about memories,” he explains. “With reimagined classics, our goal is to evoke nostalgia while creating new experiences at the table.”

With Chef John’s creative vision at the helm, guests can expect elevated dining across the hotel’s signature venues: refined Cantonese cuisine at Michelin-selected Yun House, global flavours at the all-day dining restaurant Curate, elegant afternoon tea at The Lounge, and light bites in an open-air setting at Pool Bar & Grill.
