Mitch Austin has been appointed Executive Chef at Four Seasons Hotel Los Angeles at Beverly Hills, overseeing all food and beverage outlets, including Culina Ristorante, Windows Lounge, Cabana Restaurant, In-Room Dining and Banquets.

Finding his culinary passion at a young age, Mitch would spend his weekends cooking in the kitchen with his mother and uncle for family events and parties. "The kitchen was always the fun place to be growing up. Getting to experience the different flavours, smells and technique of my family's cooking is what developed my culinary passion. It is one of the few art forms that brings people together,” says Mitch Austin.

“We are excited for Chef Mitch Austin to take this powerful next step in his culinary career at Four Seasons Hotel Los Angeles at Beverly Hills. After successfully rising through the ranks and cementing himself as a critical member of our team, Chef Mitch Austin will be instrumental in setting the future culinary direction of the Hotel,” says Michael Newcombe, General Manager of Four Seasons Hotel Los Angeles at Beverly Hills.

After graduating from the Culinary Arts and Hotel Management school in Santa Barbara, Mitch Austin started his career cooking for multiple award-winning restaurants, including the San Ysidro Ranch where he learned the ways of traditional coastal California cuisine. It was not long before his love and passion for the flavours of Southern California brought him to Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts, and in 2010 Mitch joined Four Seasons Hotel Westlake Village to further pursue his career.

During his time at Four Seasons Hotel Westlake Village, Mitch participated in a variety of culinary projects at the California Health and Longevity Institute including teaching wellness cooking classes alongside Paulette Lambert, who showed guests cooking techniques as well as introduced them to healthy ingredients and fun wellness recipes. In addition to rolling sushi alongside Chef de Cuisine Masa Shimakawa of Onyx, Mitch also continued to craft his culinary expertise while under Executive Chefs Jesse Hanson and Alexander la Motte.

When Mitch was presented with the opportunity to move to Los Angeles in 2017, he saw it as a chance to bring his aesthetic combination of elegance, warmth, and farm-to-table culinary experience with him. With each dish he creates, Chef Mitch strives to be sustainable and seasonal with the goal of providing an unforgettable dining experience while keeping a farm fresh feel. Since joining Four Seasons Hotel Los Angeles at Beverly Hills, Mitch has already spearheaded multiple wellness programs including a Matthew Kenney pop-up vegan restaurant within the Hotel and has made a strong impact on the kitchen culture. Mitch has a hands-on approach, positivity, enthusiasm, and openness that inspires his team to come together to accomplish anything.
