Four Seasons Hotel Milano announces the appointment of Michelin-starred Chef Fabrizio Borraccino as its new Executive Chef.

A native from the Abruzzo region, Fabrizio was previously executive chef of the restaurant Il Poggio Rosso at the Relais & Châteaux Borgo San Felice in the Chianti area, where he gained his first Michelin star.

“The noble art of gastronomy has been part of my life since I was a kid: I remember myself cooking with my mother who has always been patient and ready to teach me all the most traditional recipes of our family and region,” states Fabrizio. The spark that really lit Fabrizio Borraccino’s flame, however, was his schooling at a culinary institute in Pescara; he recalls his first look at the school kitchen during student orientation: “It was love at first sight, and I never looked back.”

Following graduation, Fabrizio Borraccino headed to northern Italy where he found employment in Tuscany and worked alongside some great master chefs. The region was also a launch pad for travel into Europe, where he gained experience from celebrity chefs including Pierre Gagnaire in Paris and Gordon Ramsey in London.

Finally, in 2009, Borraccino landed at Four Seasons Hotel des Bergues Geneva, working as Sous Chef for the elegant Italian restaurant Il Lago. Chef Borraccino left Four Seasons a couple of years later and returned to Italy where he was honoured with his first Michelin star as executive chef of the restaurant Il Poggio Rosso at the Relais & Châteaux Borgo San Felice.

As the new Executive Chef of Four Seasons Hotel Milano,  Fabrizio is keen on enlivening the signature Italian dining experience with the tradition and innovations of his native cuisine as well as the vibrancy of the fashion, design and, increasingly, culinary capital of Italy. He will have the task to redefine the dining offer of the restaurant La Veranda as well as to look after the lounge bar Il Foyer, the room service and catering offer.

“We are thrilled to welcome Fabrizio, and I am certain that his talent will guide our restaurant through an authentic and innovative evolution based on the Italian culinary tradition,” concludes General Manager Mauro Governato.
