Less than a year after its debut, The Merchant Room at Naples Beach Club, A Four Seasons Resort earned the Award of Excellence from Wine Spectator magazine for the breadth and depth of its wine list. The Merchant Room is one of only twelve restaurants in Naples to receive this highly respected distinction, a hallmark for discerning wine enthusiasts seeking exceptional dining experiences paired with outstanding wine selections.

Widely regarded as one of the world’s leading wine authorities, Wine Spectator has informed and shaped the global wine industry for more than 40 years. Established in 1981, the publication’s Restaurant Awards program is the only initiative in the world dedicated exclusively to restaurant wine service. The Award of Excellence honours restaurants whose wine lists feature carefully selected quality producers and demonstrate a strong thematic connection to their menus in both style and price.

Officially opened in November 2025, The Merchant Room is a New American brasserie led by two-time James Beard Award-winning Chef Gavin Kaysen. Grounded in thoughtfully sourced ingredients and warm hospitality, the restaurant blends Chef Kaysen’s mastery of French technique with regional Midwestern influences and seasonal flavours inspired by the Gulf Coast. A signature feature of the restaurant is its in-house dry-aging program, which produces exceptional cuts of meat known for their tenderness and depth of flavor.

Complementing the culinary experience is a thoughtfully curated wine list that emphasizes allocated and highly sought-after wines from France while also showcasing nuanced selections from around the world. The program is designed to pair seamlessly with the restaurant’s evolving seasonal menu, offering guests a dynamic and memorable dining experience.

A nationally celebrated chef, Gavin Kaysen is one of the most influential voices in American cuisine. He is the founder of Soigné Hospitality Group in Minneapolis, which includes Spoon and Stable, Demi, Bellecour, and Mara Restaurant and Bar at Four Seasons Hotel Minneapolis. His accolades include two James Beard Awards: Rising Star Chef of the Year (2008) and Best Chef: Midwest (2018).

The Merchant Room offers a welcoming experience where craft, care, and connection take centre stage. Located at Naples Beach Club, A Four Seasons Resort. The Merchant Room serves dinner daily from 5:30 to 9:30 pm, with reservations highly recommended and available online. The Bar menu is offered daily from 11:00 noon to 5:30 pm.
