Miss River, the signature lobby-level restaurant at Four Seasons Hotel New Orleans, announces a new cocktail menu that combines the pleasures of a Southern cocktail party with time-tested drinks ideal for entertaining, such as the Mint Julep, Pretty Rickey and a classic Daiquiri.

With its award-winning interior design and thoughtful accents curated by restauranteur Emily Shaya, the bar at Miss River is an inviting spot for enjoying a full meal or a great drink in friendly company. The bar features a daring cocktail program with innovative yet approachable drinks for the at-home bartender. Guests can recreate Miss River cocktails at home with vintage cocktail recipe cards designed by local artist Lion Heart Prints.

“What makes our bar program special is the emphasis on creativity while building on the idea that nothing needs to be complicated. A perfect balance between vintage and modern is the recipe for a memorable cocktail experience that guests can take home,” says Brian Kozak, lead bartender at Miss River.

A 15-year veteran behind the bar, Kozak reinvents fan-favourite aperitifs with recipes that are achievable for the novice mixologist and include simple steps to elevate the flavours and pack wow. Many of the ingredients used in Miss River's cocktails are fresh and locally sourced, including those from Kozak’s own garden. Frequently featured as a top dining destination by Eater New Orleans and named among the top “18 Restaurants Vital to New Orleans” by OpenTable, Miss River continues to set the standard for culinary and cocktail excellence.

Featured Cocktails

  • Miss River Julep: Bracing and icy with bourbon and a house-made garden mint syrup that’s steeped overnight to enhance the classic Mint Julep flavour. To make it even more unique, it is garnished with an abundant amount of fresh mint.
  • Port City Old Fashioned: The timeless Old Fashioned but with local rums, pure local cane syrup, Jamaican and orange bitters, and a charred fig.
  • Four Decades: Named in honour Spain’s forty-year reign in New Orleans, this cocktail features tequila, orange liqueur, passionfruit, basil, and black sea salt.
  • Pretty Rickey: A play on the Gin Rickey, the Pretty Rickey is a tall, effervescent citrus cocktail made with vodka or gin – the choice is up to each guest. Topped with artisan club soda and seasonal shrub.
  • Moonwalk: A floral grapefruit-focused cocktail, ideal for lovers of the French 75, with orange liqueur, rose water and topped with champagne.
  • El Mezcalero An agave-based white Negroni, made with mezcal, white vermouth, green chartreuse and grapefruit. Despite the complexity of flavour, the result is light and refreshing.
  • Alpine Daiquiri A Daiquiri, but made darker and more mysterious with earthy amaros, lime, and organic cane syrup.
  • Flaming Espresso Martini A modern trend, designed to keep one in the party - flamed tableside with vodka, espresso, and Mr. Black coffee liqueur.
