Four Seasons Resort Rancho Encantado Santa Fe Announces Multimillion-Dollar Revitalization, Marking the First Room Renewal in the Resort's History
Four Seasons Resort Rancho Encantado Santa Fe, an enchanting luxury boutique resort comprised of 65 intimate casitas surrounded by rugged mountainous beauty, announces that a multimillion-dollar revitalization, the first in the Resort’s history, of all guest rooms and suites is now underway along with the introduction of sustainability-focused landscaping.
The revitalization will be conducted in three phases in an effort not to impact the guest experience and is anticipated to be completed this spring. The extensive upgrades are led by Langlois Design, a boutique firm focused on sustainability and socially responsible design work, which is preserving the Resort’s Southwestern charm while infusing it with a modern aesthetic.
Conjuring the magnetic landscapes of New Mexico, the new pueblo-inspired design elegantly blends modern elements with timeless style. All rooms will be significantly enhanced with new custom-made furniture, technology, lighting, paint, window treatments, artwork and more. The casitas are designed to envelop guests in a soothing environment with a minimalist and sophisticated spin on the Southwest.
The new colour palette with notes of coral and rust is reminiscent of the surrounding landscapes and natural wonders. Punctuating the palette are tints of copper, paying homage to New Mexico’s standing as one of the top producers of copper in the country. The topographical approach extends to the decor with an area rug capturing the essence of the city’s scenery along with artwork designed to evoke the majestic allure of the Land of Enchantment.
In each room, bespoke materials nod to the Indigenous culture with horse hair pottery by artist Linda Concho of Kachina Country USA, where Indigenous artists make pueblo pottery in a manner almost identical to the method developed during the Classic Pueblo Period of approximately A.D. 1050-1300.
Additionally, the outdoor patios will be elevated with custom teak furnishings and new fabrics, including artisan throw blankets from Tribe + True, carefully crafted on a traditional wooden pedal loom. Tribe + True provides Indigenous children and families in need throughout New Mexico breakfast, lunch and dinner with every purchase.
“Since first opening in 2008, Rancho Encantado has been steeped in the rich history of Santa Fe. Debuting our first revitalized room design with the modern luxury Four Seasons is known for while still honouring the vibrant spirit of the Southwest will make for an even more enchanting retreat for our guests,” says Bixente Pery, General Manager of Four Seasons Resort Rancho Encantado Santa Fe.
The room refresh marks the latest update from Four Seasons Resort Rancho Encantado, which also completed a yearlong, five-phased landscape redesign this winter to embody the essence of the region's natural beauty and culture with a focus on sustainability.
The revitalized landscape reduces irrigation needs and conserves water resources by replacing spray-irrigated grass with Mexican feather grass in select areas. Rainwater harvesting, composting and organic gardening practices have also been incorporated to align with the Resort’s commitment to environmental stewardship.
A new selection of plants and trees, such as Russian sage with its vibrant colours and soothing aroma, provide a visual and sensory bridge that enhances the guest experience. Local flora, including the distinctive yucca and piñon pine, have been integrated into the landscape to instil a connection with the environment. To foster a sense of community, new firepit terraces are now available throughout the property with natural stone selected to harmonize with the Resort's design theme. The landscape was redesigned by VITA Inc.
“My goal with Four Seasons Resort Santa Fe was to design a space that is not just modern and simplified, but also reverent to the local culture and unreal beauty of New Mexico,” says Nicole Surget, interior designer and owner of Langlois Design. “The new look offers an elevated experience that is both timeless and captivating with a serene ambiance.”
