A haven of tranquillity and transformation cocooned in the Ayung River Valley, The Sacred River Spa at Four Seasons Resort Bali at Sayan will emerge anew this summer with an exquisite new design plus enhanced treatments and experiences inspired by the biophilic beauty of its river valley home.

The Flow from Niskala to Sekala

Set in Ubud – a region known for its healing energy – the re-imagined Sacred River Spa will take its inspiration from the ancient Balinese philosophy of Niskala (unseen energy). In this pure pocket of nature, the might of the adjacent Ayung will combine with ancient wisdom in meditative and soulful treatments with the power to affect physical change.

And, just as Niskala is inseparable from Sekala (the physical world), The Sacred River Spa will retain its connection to The Healing Village Spa at Four Seasons Resort Bali at Jimbaran Bay: its Sekala-inspired sister haven of physically restoring treatments that affect inner change.

Holistic Harmony Meets High-Tech Healing

The redesign of The Sacred River Spa will begin with brand new reception and retail areas, and outdoor relaxing and lounge spaces surrounded by a tranquil lotus pond. Beneath the lush jungle canopy, seven newly built Spa Villas will include five couple rooms for shared serenity. A hybrid infra-red and Swedish Sauna Treatment Villa will include crystal bowls tuned to the harmonious frequency of 432 Hz, while 15 quartz singing bowls and bamboo koshi chimes will set the resonant tone in a dedicated Sound Healing Therapy Room. Treatment villas will be equipped with Luxury Portovino EVO electric massage beds while one couples’ suite will benefit from Water Dream massage beds by luxury Italian brand Lemi for free-flowing tranquillity.

Rhythmic River-Inspired Treatments

The revised treatment menu will align with the rhythmic, rebalancing energy of the Ayung. The new signature Water Blessings Ritual will combine the essence of water with sacred Balinese practices through a water-bed massage and invigorating Vichy shower. Deep connection to the elements and the land will be evoked through the Breath of Bali Ritual, while enhanced Chakra Ceremonies – one of the most popular experiences on the former spa menu – will take guests on a transformative journey guided by ancient wisdom.

The new-look Sacred River Spa will also debut a new collaboration with Synthesis Organics – a product house renowned for its natural energy-imbued products, as well as new meditation and healing experiences including an elevating meditation set on a bridge over the river’s sacred waters. In addition, the spa will host 12 international yoga teachers throughout the year alongside immersive wellbeing retreats by renowned Visiting Masters.
