Boccalino Rinfrescato: Four Seasons Hotel Seoul Brings Fresh Style to Its Italian Restaurant

Seoul, Korea

Four Seasons Hotel Seoul serves up a new style this autumn with a cool and contemporary refresh of its acclaimed Italian restaurant Boccalino. Fresh flavours, revitalized menus and new design touches all take their cue from the relaxed, homey style of traditional Italian hospitality.

The restaurant’s revised menu features a more compact course menu, customisable options and an increased selection of à la carte cuisine, including twice the amount of delicious pasta dishes. Diners can also enjoy a wide selection of new beverages. Classic Italian cocktails – including Aperol Spritz, Negroni Spagliato and Gin based Martini Tricolole with an Italian flag-inspired garnish – complement more than 10 wine options available by the glass. In a playful homage to the restaurant’s name, some of these wines are served in boccalinos, meaning “jar” in Italian. In addition, staff uniforms reflect the laidback, casual spirit, doing away with ties and formal wear in favour of comfortable styles such as shirts and aprons.

Boccalino’s refresh brings diners greater variety and added value for money. The new menu introduces savings of up to 20 percent on previous menu prices across most dishes, while maintaining the quality of ingredients and recipes that the restaurant is renowned for. Guests can customize their meal with add-on options, from truffles to burrata cheese and more, depending on the dish. The Weekday Lunch Delight Menu, which previously included an antipasti buffet, main dish, and tea or coffee for KRW 99,000, has been reduced to KRW 79,000. Additionally, a promotion offering a complimentary glass of white wine will run until October 31, 2024. Drinks menus also include an array of affordable options, with prices starting from KRW 17,000.

The refresh retains Boccalino’s much-loved culinary style. Sicilian Head Chef Ivan Spadaro uses local, seasonal ingredients to craft authentic home-style dishes inspired by his own generations-old family recipes, delivered with an imaginative twist. All are created with passion and flair in the restaurant’s open kitchen. Boccalino’s signature dishes – including Pistacchio Pizza, Spaghettoni Vongole with Sea Urchin, Slow Braised Short Rib, and Spicy Octopus alla Luciana, a recipe handed down to Chef Spadaro by his grandmother – remain firmly in place on the new menu.

For those who prefer to tailor their dining experience, Boccalino’s “Do It Yourself’ course is the perfect choice. Guests can curate their own course meal by selecting their preferred dishes, from antipasti to main courses. The price varies depending on the selected dishes. Each DIY course order includes sparkling or still water, dessert, and coffee or tea.

Additionally, diners can indulge in the Chef’s Tasting Menu, offering a more leisurely exploration of Boccalino’s culinary delights. The tasting menu changes seasonally and features dishes such as marinated red prawn carpaccio, asparagus soup, the signature lobster saffron risotto with gorgonzola, grilled Korean beef sirloin, roasted mushrooms and porcini mushroom cream, truffle cannolo, and a choice of coffee or tea. Priced at KRW 180,000.
