Private wildlife photography sessions, a local artist in residence and a New Year's Eve celebration for 2017 await at the luxury safari lodge
October 14, 2016,
Serengeti, Tanzania

For a Christmas vacation like no other, Four Seasons Safari Lodge Serengeti has a calendar of festivities lined up for this Christmas and New Year, all serving as the perfect complement to days out on safari in the Serengeti National Park.

With both half day and full day game drives available, expert Four Seasons driver guides are on hand to spot as many of the "big five" as possible, with guests also able to now enjoy a safari in the Lodge's new open vehicle. Upon return to Four Seasons, a Christmas culinary showcase awaits, with celebrations culminating in a New Year's Eve party at Maji Bar and Terrace, where a local band and DJ will play under the African sky, just metres from the Lodge's animal watering hole.

Artist Riziki S. J. Kateya and photographer Rick Collins will also be joining in the holiday spirit, with both being at the Lodge over the festive period to showcase their creative skills. Riziki, who is of Maasai  origin and who is famous for her botanical illustrations, will be at Maji Terrace daily between December 22, 2016 and January 2, 2017, where the paintings she creates will be available for sale. Professional wildlife photographer Rick Collins will be offering private photography safaris to help guests perfect their composition when capturing shots of the surrounding wildlife and landscape.

For children, movie nights, kids' cooking classes, animal face painting and a string of activities at the Kijana Klub  will provide no end to the entertainment, while adults can rejuvenate at the six suite spa or take a closer look at the nature of the savannah in a guided walking safari.

Rates during the festive season start from USD 1,540 per night for a Savannah room, inclusive of full board. To make a reservation contact: res.serengeti@fourseasons.com.
