Terry Fox Run for Cancer Research to Be Hosted by Four Seasons Hotel Silicon Valley in Palo Alto

This year on Sunday, September 15, 2024, the Terry Fox Run will once again grace Silicon Valley, continuing a tradition of honouring Canadian cancer activist Terry Fox’s Marathon of Hope. This year’s event will be hosted by Four Seasons Hotel Silicon Valley, drawing participants from across the region to support cancer research.

Terry Fox, a 22-year-old athlete who lost his leg to osteogenic sarcoma, captured global attention in 1980 with his incredible journey running 3,339 miles across Canada on a prosthetic limb. His “Marathon of Hope” aimed to raise awareness and funds for cancer research. Although his run was cut short by the spread of cancer, his legacy continues to inspire millions.

Four Seasons Hotel Silicon Valley partners with Four Seasons Hotel San Francisco and sister properties in Northern California to host this year’s run at the Baylands Athletic Center, with registration starting at 9:30 am and the 5K and 10K run/walk commencing at 10:00 am. The event is expected to wrap up by 2:00 pm, allowing ample time for participants to engage in the community festivities. Last year, the event raised USD 17,250 with 155 participants, and this year’s goal is to surpass USD 50,000.

Food Truck For Cancer Research

Four Seasons Hotel Silicon Valley announce that its very own food truck will be stationed at the run/walk, with all proceeds benefiting the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK). Enjoy delicious meals prepared and served by Four Seasons Silicon Valley chefs while supporting a great cause.

All proceeds will support the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK), a leading institution in innovative cancer research and treatment. The Terry Fox Run is a non-competitive, family-friendly event open to all abilities, and there is no minimum donation required to participate.

As the Terry Fox Run approaches on Sunday, September 15, 2024, Four Seasons Hotel Silicon Valley is offering a special room rate to participants. A rate of USD 350 is available for a stay covering the nights of Friday, September 13, Saturday, September 14, and Sunday, September 15, which includes complimentary self-parking.
