Introducing Chef Vasileios Koukaras: The Heart of Greek Cuisine

At the heart of this collaboration is Chef Vasileios Koukaras hailing from northern Greece, where his culinary journey began in the family village of Leptokaria. Inspired by the teachings of his mother and grandmother, Chef Vasileios views cooking as a relationship, one that must be nurtured with love and passion. He believes that the essence of Greek cuisine lies in its ingredients, their smells, tastes, and the stories they tell. "Cooking is like a relationship; it must be done with love and passion," says Chef Vasileios, who feels blessed to have Greek cuisine as part of his heritage.

A Mediterranean Journey: From North to South, Experience Greek Delights

This event, aptly named A Mediterranean Journey, is more than just a celebration of food; it’s a passage through the rich cultures and flavours that define the Mediterranean. It’s a journey across the Mediterranean as the guest chef from Taverna 37, Vasileios Koukaras, brings the essence of the north to the heart of the south. It’s a celebration of Greek culinary heritage, uniting two shores in one menu.

A week of Greek delights and cultural richness will transport guests from Athens to Tunis through an array of culinary indulgence and vibrant entertainment. The event will feature traditional Greek dishes crafted with fresh, seasonal ingredients, alongside a lively atmosphere enhanced by bouzouki tunes and a ceremony of plate smashing, a cherished Greek tradition symbolizing celebration and good fortune.
