Nature’s Healing Touch: Holistic Wellness at Four Seasons Resort The Nam Hai

June 10, 2024,
Hoi An, Vietnam

Naturopathy, a practice steeped in age-old wisdom, unlocks self-healing through natural, non-invasive methods. Intending to treat the whole person, including mind, body and spirit, it seeks to address the root causes of ailments — rather than merely treating symptoms. By focusing on nutrition, physical activity and herbal therapies, naturopathy supports our intrinsic capacity to maintain balance and vitality.

Set along the lush coast of Central Vietnam, a region rich in healing traditions, Four Seasons Resort The Nam Hai offers a sanctuary for nature-inspired wellness. Guests are introduced to the timeless art of naturopathy through holistic treatments, cultural rituals and curated cuisine, guided by the expertise of resident naturopath and wellness manager Sudha Nair.

Nature-Based Healing

Naturopathy goes back 2,400 years to the time of Hippocrates, widely known as “the father of medicine,” who advocated for the curative powers of nature. In the Vietnamese culture, traditional tonics and tinctures are derived from the abundant surrounding flora and fauna, making the verdant Resort an ideal place to explore nature-based therapies.

Naturopathy offers a plethora of benefits, from eliminating toxins and boosting immunity to lowering stress and preventing illness. To help the individual better cope with existing health issues, physical and mental well-being are aligned with each other alongside the environment.

Natural Nourishment

Adopting simple habits such as mindful eating, regular meal timings and using seasonal ingredients daily can revolutionise overall health and well-being. Introduced in the summer of 2024, the Resort’s Balance Menu by Four Seasons embodies this philosophy, presenting garden-to-table dishes with organically grown nutrient-rich ingredients to nourish body and soul.

Available at La Sen and Café Nam Hai, the Balance Menu features a range of vibrant superfoods and detoxifying juices. Savour creations such as the Vegan Bibimbap, a colourful medley of mushrooms, zucchini and carrots; and the Ha My Ceviche, made with protein-packed mahi mahi, avocado, cherry tomatoes and red onions. Meticulously crafted with fresh local ingredients and low-sodium dressings, every bite affords a delicious journey into wellness.

Naturopathy with Sudha Nair

With more than two decades of experience in naturopathy and yoga, Sudha Nair brings a wealth of knowledge to the Resort’s offerings. Rooted in the curative potential of nature, her approach is centred around a simple, mindful way of life. She strongly believes in the importance of building small, consistent habits such as staying hydrated, spending time outdoors and choosing stairs over elevators to promote better health. In Sudha’s words, “Nature offers abundant ways to heal and renew our whole self. Embracing this wisdom can be life-changing.”
