September 5, 2018,
Orlando at Walt Disney World Resort, U.S.A.

Four Seasons Golf and Sports Club Orlando recently appointed Joe Angelino as Club General Manager.  Angelino brings 28 years of experience in the golf industry.

“We are thrilled to have Joe on the team,” says Thomas Steinhauer, Regional Vice President and General Manager. “Joe’s experience in a private club setting and familiarity with the Orlando market, along with his passion for golf and customer service makes him a tremendous asset to our growing club membership.”

Prior to joining Four Seasons, Angelino was a sales representative for Textron Golf based in North Carolina. Before Textron, he served 10 years as director of golf at Grand Cypress Resort in Lake Buena Vista, Florida. His experience also includes serving as director of operations and head golf professional for Oneonta Country Club, a private club in upstate New York. Angelino holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Florida Southern College in Lakeland, Florida, and is also a Class A member of the PGA of America.

“It’s an honour for me to be named General Manager of Four Seasons Golf and Sports Club Orlando, and to be a part of something so exciting,” says Angelino.  “I look forward to becoming acquainted with the members and Resort guests who are playing Tranquilo.”

In early 2018, Tranquilo Golf Course transitioned to an exclusive course, available for play to registered resort guests and club members.  The only golf course located at a AAA Five Diamond Rated resort, the course is unique to Central Florida for its varying elevation, abundant wildlife and protected wetlands. Members and Resort guests who golf at Tranquilo can experience the signature Four Seasons guest service provided by the dedicated team, including an accomplished Director of Instruction Rod Cook, PGA member, and Head Golf Professional Scott Blanchard.  The name "Tranquilo" pays homage to the resort’s Spanish Revival design and tranquil setting, featuring many southern live oak trees with delicate Spanish moss. The 18-hole Tom Fazio-designed course is a Par 71, with a yardage of 6,901 and four sets of tees to accommodate all skill levels.

Tranquilo also was recently enhanced with a new practice facility, including a Par 3 course and putting area. The practice facility features a 400-yard double-ended driving range with a two-acre (.8 hectare) natural grass teeing area, a chipping and pitching area totaling 14,000 square feet (1,300 square metres), and an 18,000 square foot (1,675 square metre) putting course.  Tranquilo Golf Course is certified by the Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary program for golf by the National Audubon Society. In early 2019, the LPGA will kick off its season at Tranquilo, with the nationally televised DRI Invitational, airing on NBC and Golf Channel.
