Gioele Recchia's journey into hospitality began unexpectedly. What started as a search for a job soon evolved into a passion for the culinary world as he discovered a growing curiosity for the kitchen and an eagerness to learn every day. Raised in Italy, where food and ingredients were always at the heart of family life, Gioele developed an appreciation for the way great meals bring people together, create connections, and tell stories
Over the years, Gioele built an impressive international culinary career, holding leadership positions at renowned luxury properties including Cheval Blanc Randheli, Cheval Blanc Seychelles, and Rosewood Miyakojima in Japan, where he most recently served as Executive Sous Chef. His experiences across Europe, Asia, and the Indian Ocean helped shape a culinary philosophy grounded in authenticity, curiosity, and constant growth.
In 2026, Gioele joined Four Seasons Resort Peninsula Papagayo, Costa Rica as Executive Chef, attracted by Costa Rica's extraordinary natural beauty and the opportunity to immerse himself in the country's rich culinary culture. He is particularly passionate about creating meaningful connections with guests and using those insights to craft personalized dining experiences that feel both memorable and authentic.
Known for being ambitious, generous, and down-to-earth, Gioele is committed to elevating the resort's culinary identity while celebrating the individuality, creativity, and talent of the chefs and leaders around him. Looking ahead, he hopes to deepen relationships with local farmers and producers, bringing their stories and ingredients closer to the guest experience.
When he's not in the kitchen, Gioele enjoys diving, wakeboarding, discovering great food, and spending time in the ocean. The place he treasures most, however, is his family home in Italy.
His personal motto is simple: "Do it."
