Federico Giovine is passionate about elevating the profile of hospitality. His aim at Four Seasons Hotel Dubai International Financial Centre is to cultivate a vibrant environment that people aspire to join. Understanding that excellent customer service springs from a motivated team, he consistently brings the best version of himself to his role.
His motto is to lead by example. “When I got promoted for the very first time, I asked my manager how I could thank him. He said, ‘Don’t worry, soon you’ll be on my side of the chair and you will be in a position to do this for others. If you want to pay me back, support others.’”
Over the years, Federico has gained a complete view of the organization through varied roles, enabling him to balance short-term needs with long-term vision and to evaluate opportunities through both lenses. In each assignment, nurturing talent has remained one of his key focus areas. “Four Seasons provides the right environment for growth. More than anything else, I’m a hotelier. I believe in it. I enjoy it.”
Although a third-generation hotelier, Federico did not initially plan a career in hospitality. He fell in love with the dynamic, ever changing milieu of hotels after joining a small family property in Buenos Aires in 2005. That same year, he applied to Four Seasons as a telephone operator. “My goal was to follow my passion, to work in the ‘Premier League’ of the industry. Since joining Four Seasons, the company has continuously given me the opportunity to grow. Hence, 20 years later, I am still here.”
Prior to his appointment as Hotel Manager, he served as Senior Director of Rooms at Four Seasons Resort Dubai at Jumeirah Beach and Four Seasons Hotel Dubai International Financial Centre. His efforts and strategic initiatives were fundamental in driving success through the fluid times of the pandemic, placing special emphasis on ensuring his teams felt supported. “If we are able to create a true sense of belonging in our teams, raising the bar is a lot more feasible, fun and exciting.”
“When looking at the destinations I have worked in, I’ve been very fortunate. Buenos Aires, where I come from and where I started, is an amazing city. Seychelles is a beautiful island and working in a remote location was a new type of challenge. Prague, my first experience on the eastern side of Europe, was astonishing. From there I moved to Lisbon, and I enjoyed it so very much. After these years I transferred to the UK, then to Dubai, then to Budapest. I’ve been very lucky and I’m so happy to continue my journey here, and to return to Dubai in this new chapter as Hotel Manager of Four Seasons Hotel Dubai International Financial Centre.”
