Whether you wish to embrace the country lifestyle or step back in time to Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice, Four Seasons Hotel Hampshire has a range of pursuits sure to give you the quintessential English countryside experience.
Clay Pigeon Shooting
The sprawling lands around the manor house were once Royal hunting grounds and although guests are no longer able to saddle up and head out to hunt wild boar and deer, they can get a taste for some country sport at the clay pigeon shooting range. It has six stalls offering different challenges and the expert guide will help school guests in the basics of shooting – or the finer elements for those looking to improve their skills. As the crack of the shotgun echoes off the trees and clay shatters above, it’s a hugely enjoyable way to spend some outdoor time.
Fishing
Four Seasons Hotel Hampshire benefits from two lakes on the surrounding land. They were the original fishing lakes for the owner of the house, dating back to 1110. Today, for novices and old pros, the Hotel has fishing and trout rights on Belvedere Pond. Daily from 9:00 am to sundown.
Croquet
Croquet was once the sports craze of Victorian England. And from April to September, guests can enjoy this historic sport on the Croquet Lawn, with Guest Services staff available to coach them. Mallets, balls, jacks and hoops are available. Children under 14 must be accompanied by an adult. Tuesday-Sunday, 9:00 am – 4:00 pm.
