A native of Hangzhou, Xavier Xie spent his first 20 years in this vibrant city before moving to Changsha for university, to pursue a degree in tourism management. After briefly joining the hospitality industry as a concierge attendant upon graduation, he transitioned to military life, returning to Hangzhou at the end of 2011. Since then, he has dedicated his career to concierge services, joining Four Seasons Hotel Hangzhou at Hangzhou Centre in 2024.

Xavier’s lifelong experience in Hangzhou has endowed him with a unique perspective on the city, which he enthusiastically shares with guests seeking distinctive local experiences. “Heaven above, Suzhou and Hangzhou below,” as the saying goes - this famous tourist city boasts both outstanding natural attractions and a rich historical and cultural legacy. Visitors to Four Seasons Hotel Hangzhou at Hangzhou Centre come to discover not only the serene beauty of West Lake but also to find curated, insider recommendations, gaining inspiration for an unforgettable Four Seasons experience in Hangzhou. Xavier and his team work to ensure that Four Seasons guests gain a deeper appreciation for Hangzhou’s scenic landscapes and cultural heritage.

Growing up along the Grand Canal and attending school in the Wulin area, Xavier possesses an intimate knowledge of Hangzhou’s historic city centre and its irreplaceable charm. Whether it’s the vibrant lights along the Grand Canal at night, the tranquil, hidden Tianshuiqiao Lane, the melodic hymns at Church, or the beloved Wulin Night Market, he delights in sharing these local treasures with visitors, revealing their stories and unique character.

Of course, guests’ curiosity about the city often extends beyond the immediate vicinity of the Hotel, inspiring explorations into every corner of Hangzhou. To provide the most authentic recommendations, Xavier frequently spends his free time wandering the city, savouring local cuisine, attending new art exhibitions, and seeking out the city’s “imperial elegance.” His explorations not only serve as a personal pursuit but also enrich the insights he offers his team, allowing them to bring genuine, up-to-date information that deeply resonates with Four Seasons guests.

In his personal life, Xavier emphasizes a balance between work and leisure. A fitness enthusiast, he especially enjoys Les Mills classes, finding renewed energy in every workout. He is also passionate about long-distance running and swimming, and during his vacations, he travels widely to explore the wonders of the world.
