Ellie Truong’s path to becoming Director of Catering at Four Seasons Resort The Nam Hai, Hoi An began with a simple instinct - to make moments matter. Her work begins with what unfolds around each moment: the anticipation before a celebration, the emotions tied to each request, and the stories guests carried with them.

Over time, that instinct shaped her journey. From planning intimate surprises - a carefully crafted birthday for an 18-year-old - to milestone anniversaries and large-scale gatherings, Ellie learned how deeply people connect through shared moments. With each experience, she developed a sensitivity to balance: emotion and execution, creativity and detail, intimacy and scale.

What continues to shape Ellie’s path is a quiet curiosity - an attentiveness to everyday details, places, and conversations that may one day inspire the next celebration. At Four Seasons Resort The Nam Hai, Hoi An, her work lives in that delicate space where expectation meets feeling. Guests often arrive with clear visions, seeking experiences they may only have once in their lives. Delivering them requires not only preparation, but trust, adaptability, and a genuine care for people - values reflected in the culture she works within. “Every event holds a personal story. And when you understand that a moment may live in someone’s memory forever, every decision - big or small - starts to matter,” says Ellie.

A defining chapter of her journey came with The Greatest Nam Hai Show, the resort’s New Year’s Eve Gala Dinner in 2023. Conceived as a full sensory experience, the evening unfolded like a theatrical finale - where cuisine, performance, design, and storytelling came together in a single shared moment. It marked a milestone not only in scale, but in confidence, collaboration, and creative trust.

Beyond the world of events, Ellie finds balance in life’s simplest moments – enjoying her husband’s home-cooked meals, her little garden, quiet staycations, or family movie nights - moments that continue to shape her understanding of what truly brings people together. And while many celebrations have already unfolded, her journey remains open, guided by curiosity, care, and the quiet certainty that the next meaningful moment is still waiting to be created.
