Launched in December 2024, the restaurant is led by acclaimed Lebanese Chef Mohammed El-Hajjar. With over two decades of experience as a specialty chef, consultant, food stylist and mixologist, El-Hajjar is a defining force in Kuwait’s fine-dining scene. His gastronomy fuses the rich heritage of his homeland with an extraordinary creative flair. “Lebanese dining is an immersive experience – it’s all about bringing people together to feel a sense of joy and belonging,” says Chef Mo.
Chef Mo's welcoming interactions with guests impart the hospitable spirit of the Lebanese people from the start. His talents as a mixologist and food stylist are evident, while his conversation-starter dishes showcase generations-old family recipes infused with contemporary sensibilities and Kuwaiti influences. His signature techniques – sous-vide cooking, smoking, fermentation, and emulsification – combine in creations designed to delight both the palate and the eye. “I love to engage all the senses,” he says. “Great flavour doesn’t need to be complicated; simple, high-quality ingredients can shine when treated with love and care.”
The resulting dishes surprise and delight, striking a delicate balance between tradition and innovation. The crispiest, flakiest layers of potato in coriander sauce present a game-changing take on Batata Harra. Scintillating Wagyu Beef and Truffle Hummus sparks a new culinary conversation between past and present. Mango Tabbouleh gives a culinary heritage classic a bold tropical boost, while the humble Kibbeh receives a luxury lift with the addition of lobster, caviar and potato.
Desserts are equally exciting: a reimagined Kanafeh Sambousek with Jalal sauce and pistachios; a zesty Saaj Millefeulle layered with lemon cream, pecans and apricots that introduces a playful Levantine take on the French classic. All are crafted in Lї Beirut's open kitchen, inviting diners into the heart of the culinary experience.
