In her youth, she was highly energetic and curious, in adulthood, she is adventurous, with an ingrained passion for life, love, and learning. While she may not be climbing trees, scraping knees and getting into mischief these days, Alexandra Carle, Director of Spa at Four Seasons Hotel Kuwait at Burj Alshaya, remains powered by a drive to enjoy life to the fullest and laugh from the bottom of her heart.
Kindness is also one of her guiding principles. Running a fever as a child, she opted not to wake her hardworking mother. Instead, young Alexandra spent the night teaching herself the muscles and bones of the human body from a book. It was a turning point: not only did she learn that she could train her mind’s focus, but she also discovered a subject that captivated her. By the age of 17, she knew she wanted to help others to alleviate pain. By 21, she had qualified as a physiotherapist in her native Romania.
A two-decade immersion in the world of wellness and hospitality followed, from leading cohesive cross-cultural teams to tending to VIPs on an exclusive private island. Her motivation comes in the form of seeing former members of her spa teams grow personally and professionally—and being reminded that her work has been and is meaningful, and that at the heart of every exchange lies a dedication to compassion and respect.
With extensive international experience in spa management, Alexandra brings both business acumen and heartfelt dedication to her first Four Seasons role as Spa Director in Kuwait. She understands that while a spa must succeed commercially, its true essence lies in people, emotions, and creating meaningful connections. Her leadership principles are rooted in transparency, trust, and kindness which see her nurturing her team’s wellbeing, inspiring growth, and fostering a safe and inclusive environment that naturally extends to guests. Her deep commitment to personalized service sees her blend cultural awareness with a genuine passion for wellness, nutrition, and mindful living. Underpinning it all is her passion for creating bespoke journeys that resonate with the local community while building lasting relationships and returning guests.
Alexandra is also keen to expand on the sustainability goals at the Responsible Hospitality VERIFIED spa, and further boost its naturally inspired, resort-like ambience. Outside of work hours, it’s Kuwait’s unique architecture that has piqued her curiosity, the city’s hidden gems firmly in her sights on her days off.
Whether at work or at rest, Alexandra very much walks her talk of wellness starts from within, nurturing a healthy mind and a healthy body. To relax she enjoys meditation, pilates, reading, swimming, painting whenever inspiration strikes, and recharging her batteries under the sun. Whether being passionate about her work or recognising the blessing of her tightly knit family and adored husband, she is in no doubt of the secret to a richly lived life: ‘ove is the key that unlocks everything.
