From July 7 to September 9, 2025, summer flavours unfold around the Hotel’s 800-year-old pond garden, immersing guests in the season’s verdant splendour. With local harvests and products taking centre stage, guests can deepen their connection with Japan’s natural abundance and culinary craftsmanship.
Journey Through Japan: “Kyoto Meets Okinawa” Menu
The ongoing “Journey Through Japan” series at EMBA KYOTO GRILL introduces guests to another remarkable region. Prized ingredients from Okinawa island lend a southern flair to this late-summer degustation, featuring Shikuwasa limes, passionfruit, pineapple and more, combined with Kyoto specialities such as Tanba Ajiwai chicken and tenderloin. The highlight at dinner is the charcoal-grilled “Kyo no Niku” beef fillet, complemented by charred romesco sauce.

On late summer evenings, the newly-refreshed pondside terrace transforms into a relaxed beer garden, inviting families and friends to gather under the Kyoto sky. Dusk softens the light and cools the breeze, creating the perfect setting for free-flow Japanese draught beer and barbequed delicacies.
Guests can immerse in the pleasure of grilling alfresco, with a personal BBQ at their own table and a set of exceptional ingredients, including dry-aged meats, fresh seafood and locally grown vegetables.
