On World Kindness Day, Four Seasons Hotel Kyoto Ushers in a New Season of Care, Creativity and Community

Families nurture the joy of kindness all through festive season
November 10, 2025,
Kyoto, Japan

This World Kindness Day, Four Seasons Hotel Kyoto unveils a selection of inspirational activities, curated to foster warmth, empathy and generosity throughout the festive season. Inviting kids and families to embrace the joy of giving back and build a kinder world together, these interactive experiences add a heartfelt dimension to this year’s holiday celebration.

Kids for Kindness inspires young guests to express compassion towards loved ones, community and nature – all while creating joyful memories as a family. Rooted in cherished Japanese notions of care, these activities encourage kids to lead their own acts of kindness and explore different facets of compassion through art, storytelling, hobbies and more.

Highlights

Starting November 13, 2025, Four Seasons Hotel Kyoto celebrates the season of giving, one act of kindness at a time.

  • Postcards of Kindness. Exploring kindness through art and connection, kids design thoughtful postcards for loved ones. These tokens of appreciation can be gifted personally – or mailed to friends and family back home via the Hotel’s Kindness Mailbox.
  • Kindness Stamp Quest. Compassion stays top of mind with a tailormade Goshuin stamp book for festive season, inspired by Japan’s temple traditions. Young explorers track down and collect kindness stamps around the Hotel, uncovering moments of joyful connection.
  • Kindness in Nature (only on Kindness Day, November 13). This is a chance to discover Kyoto’s natural beauty while fostering kindness towards the environment. Families join Cultural Ambassador Nao Yokoyama for a guided hike through serene forest paths and peaceful shrines. Participants are encouraged to collect wayside litter and help keep the trail clean, inculcating a hands-on approach to caring for the planet.
  • Kindness Storytelling. The Hotel’s beloved storytelling rituals shine brighter with a fresh focus on kindness. Cultural Ambassador Nao captivates kids with Japanese tales that capture the timeless value of kindness and reveal the essence of dozo – a phrase reflecting daily gestures of consideration.
  • Gifts of Kindness. Spread the season’s joy with signature Four Seasons cookies – paired with a traditional Daruma, a locally crafted doll symbolising perseverance and good fortune. Each purchase widens the circle of kindness, with all proceeds benefiting Heian Youikuin, a local foster home supporting children in need.

As Kyoto lights up for Christmas festivities, Four Seasons Hotel Kyoto welcomes guests of all generations to celebrate the true spirit of the holidays – a time for sharing kindness, nurturing community and sparking joy.
