From June 1 to August 31, 2026, Four Seasons Hotel Kyoto celebrates the season’s harvest with the Summer Reverie Afternoon Tea, a luminous culinary experience presented alongside an 800-year-old Japanese pond garden.

Summer in Kyoto marks the arrival of peaches at their shun – the peak of flavour, texture and aroma. These prized peaches lead the seasonal showcase, thoughtfully crafted into selections inspired by the artistry of French crystal with select design cues drawn from Baccarat.

The effect is one of restrained brilliance, echoing the pond garden beyond and the flowing water that shapes Kyoto’s summer landscape. Seasonality, craft and light converge into a dazzling afternoon, where the setting is as much a part of the composition.

Presented at EMBA KYOTO GRILL, the Summer Reverie Afternoon Tea unites two culinary sensibilities, exploring traditional French pastry techniques through the lens of Kyoto’s seasonal produce. At the centre of the menu are the fabled summer peaches, appearing in both sweet and savoury expressions.

Standouts include the Foie Gras and Peach Mousse with hojicha and vanilla sablé, where fresh peach lifts the richness of foie gras, balanced by the gentle bitterness of hojicha. Presented in an elegant geometric form, the dish offers a subtle nod to crystal-inspired design.

Equally refined, the sweet offerings are anchored by the Peach and Vanilla White Mousse, layered into a delicate peach form with a core of compote, encased in a smooth shell for a clean, polished finish.

Guided by Kyoto’s summer bounty, this limited-time Afternoon Tea presents into a considered expression of seasonality, craftsmanship and setting. Whether seated indoors or out on the terrace, the Shakusui-en pond garden remains in view, elevating teatime into a sensorial and immersive ritual.
