One of the most distinguished golf professionals in Hawaii, Scott Ashworth has more than 25 years of experience in the golf industry and has received many accolades, including 2008 Golf Professional of the Year from the PGA Aloha Section. He was recently confirmed to become the next District 11 Director for the PGA of America representing the Aloha, Northern California, and Southern California Sections. His term is scheduled to run through 2018.

A native of Spokane, Washington, Scott discovered his passion for golf at a young age through his father, who served as a golf course superintendent for 30 years. A graduate of the University of Washington, he began working at the University’s driving range as the youngest golf instructor ever hired to date.  He then accepted the position of Assistant Golf Professional at McCormick Woods Golf Course in Port Orchard, Washington, and was promoted to head golf professional in 1997 when he received his PGA membership. Scott came to Hawaii in 2001 as the head golf professional at Ko Olina Golf Club on Oahu, and is now Director of Golf at Four Seasons Resort Lanai.

A member and past president of the PGA Aloha Section and the Hawaii Alliance for Golf, Scott also has been honoured with the prestigious Bill Strausbaugh Award in 2009 and 2012, the Horton Smith Award, and most recently the Resort Merchandiser of the Year 2013 for the PGA of America’s Aloha Section. He was honoured by previous employers as Head Golf Professional of the Year for Billy Casper Golf in 2005 and Marriott Golf Professional of the Year in 2009.
