Four Seasons Resorts Lanai Shortlisted for World Sustainable Travel and Hospitality Awards
The World Sustainable Travel & Hospitality Awards has announced the official shortlist and Four Seasons Resorts Lanai has been nominated under the Sustainable Cultural Heritage Project category along with individuals and organisations accelerating change and delivering impact in net-positive tourism.
Voting is now open and runs until 30 August 2025, with industry professionals, the media, and the general public all eligible to vote for the nominees they believe are making the most impactful contribution to sustainable travel. Visit the online link to cast a vote.
The programme’s 30 categories have been selected by the Advisory Board of experts to reflect the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and net positive framework of People, Planet, Place, Prosperity, and Partnerships.
Both Four Seasons Resort Lanai and Sensei Lanai, A Four Seasons Resort were recently recognized for responsible business practices with Earthcheck Silver certification and also received Hawaii Green Business Awards and Forbes Verified Responsible Hospitality badge.
Some of the Resorts’ sustainability initiatives include eliminating single-use packaging for bath, outlet and spa amenities, water and energy-efficient operations in rooms and golf course, and conservation projects across the island, including organic reef friendly landscaping. A recent project targets food waste reduction utilizing WST&H nominee Winnow’s AI technology to capture waste stream of guest and employee food consumption to divert and reduce our overall waste. Submissions were assessed by Sustainable Business students at Nova Business School, with the shortlist reviewed and approved by the Advisory Board. Selection criteria included quantitative and qualitative data; internationally recognised standards, directives and best practice; scalability and replicability; partnership and collaboration; relative impact; and bringing the story to life.
Winners will be revealed at the 2nd annual World Sustainable Travel & Hospitality Awards Gala Ceremony, taking place at Terra, Expo City Dubai, on 29 October 2025.
