Four Seasons Hotel London at Park Lane to Launch Exhibit with Renowned British Artist Chris Levine and Exclusive, Artist-Led Frieze Contemporary and Frieze Masters Tours for Guests
Frieze is set to return to London from October 9 to 13, 2024 and in celebration, Four Seasons Hotel London at Park Lane has partnered with artist Chris Levine to exhibit six new portraits, and has announced a series of bespoke Frieze tours and experiences.
Levine is a pioneering contemporary multi-disciplinary artist, renowned for his innovative use of technology and light, such as holograms and lasers, to bring to life unique creative pieces. He is best known for his groundbreaking light-based portraits of Queen Elizabeth II, while his other subjects vary from Kate Moss and Naomi Campbell to Elton John and the Dalai Lama.
Launching on October 9, Levine’s six new portraits will be exhibited throughout Four Seasons Hotel London at Park Lane until the end of the month. Each of the six are an iconic British artist themselves who Levine has followed for many years: Cornelia Parker, David Shrigley, Daniel Lismore, Yinka Shonibare, Rana Begum and Rachel Whiteread. Each subject has been photographed in Levine’s recognisable style, and will follow a similar direction as Levine’s latest released prints of the late Queen Elizabeth II, made for high-profile charity galas such as amfAR and the Caring for Women Dinner by Kering Foundation. The pieces are all unique as Levine will hand draw on each, and place microcrystals in certain details. The new portraits will be displayed in juxtaposition to some of his most famous work including Lightness of Being (depicting Queen Elizabeth II) and She’s Light (of Kate Moss).
Four Seasons Hotel London at Park Lane will also exhibit Levine’s light-based work entitled Light is Love in the Hotel’s lobby. Showcasing a captivating technology pioneered by Levine, the artwork projects an image only visible in one's peripheral vision - asking its viewers to take a moment of stillness and examine what they are seeing in front of them.
The in-Hotel exhibition is complemented by a range of exclusive Frieze tours for guests staying at the Hotel during the exhibition, guided by the Hotel’s knowledgeable art experts:
