Constantly evolving and striving for excellence, Amit Dauhoo has displayed a unique capacity for growth and improvement over a tenured career at Four Seasons Resort Mauritius at Anahita. Starting out as part of the pre-opening team, he began his stint as a head waiter at the much-acclaimed French restaurant, Beau Champ.
A shining example of the rewards of homegrown talent, Amit embodies the spirit of the Four Seasons identity. “This brand is all about authenticity and by pursuing with local talent, the Resort retains its connection with the culture and the destination,” he shares. The requirement for international standards of service and excellence are just as important in a company that has built its reputation on those commitments, he adds. Setting these very standards for excellence is where Amit comes in – his ability to rally his team during crunch situations, while making sure that every guest is cared for individually, are what set him apart.
He is fully cognizant about how important team morale and wellbeing are and this is where his vast experience in different roles allows him to be empathetic and supportive. From head waiter to restaurant supervisor and assistant in-villa dining manager, Amit has personal experience with almost every food and beverage function at the Resort. This multi-dimensional understanding of personnel and expectations helps him act as a team leader now, with the ability to take charge and inspire his colleagues when required.
A two-and-a-half-month stint in 2011 at the former Four Seasons Resort Provence, France, was crucial for his development, with first-hand experience with the finest exponents of restaurant and culinary management. Back in Mauritius, he was soon entrusted with the important role of overseeing the conversion of the golf course dining establishment to an Italian trattoria-styled restaurant, Il Forno, still in charge of in-villa dining at the Resort. This success propelled him on, and from restaurant manager at the poolside bar and grill, Bambou, to senior outlets manager during a difficult pandemic period, where Amit continued to display his unwavering dedication. A consummate professional in the truest sense, Amit is primed for service and committed to his craft – all set to continue his successful journey at the Resort.
