Appointed as the Director of Residences at Four Seasons Resort Mauritius at Anahita in 2020 and subsequently reassigned to Director of Roomsa, Armelle Duval is a seasoned hospitality professional, with rich experience from a career spanning across increasingly senior management positions in the luxury resorts of Mauritius.
Born and raised in Mauritius, Armelle was fascinated with the genuine warmth of character and welcome that Mauritius is known for around the world. “Hospitality, for me, is about making a difference – it can be adding a personal touch or a thoughtful gesture, even the slightest thing can make a lasting impression on someone’s stay.”
Working with an uncompromising devotion, Armelle developed a strong resumé working in multiple luxury properties around the island, holding the position of hotel manager prior to joining the Resort. “Four Seasons is known across the hospitality industry as a best-in-class example of a great place to work and from my experience, I could not agree more.” Joining the brand is a new and exciting challenge for Armelle, with her heading up the Residential team, which is responsible for 45 of the Resort’s multi-bedroom pool villas and the associated owner relationships.
Struck by the passion and togetherness of her team upon joining, Armelle is always in search of new ways to deliver excellence, encouraging her team to think outside of the box and create experiences that resonate with guests. “Here in Mauritius, we have so much natural beauty around us, and for our guests and owners, coming to stay with us is about finding a home away from home where every need is taken care of without a second thought. We have an incredible Resort to enjoy each and every day and it’s more than a pleasure to share this, and experiences of the destination more widely, with guests during their stay.”
Away from work, Armelle’s people-focused approach continues through her devotion to her family. “My children, Kalinka, Chanel and Akon, are an integral part of my life. They always offer me new perspectives and I hope to inspire them to follow my path and make a difference in whatever they choose to do in their futures.” In her free time, Armelle and her husband love bringing the family around the dining table for a meal of hearty Cantonese dishes.
