Having played an active role in hospitality, asset and property management, it was but a natural transition for Caroline Nicolas to step into Four Seasons Resort Mauritius at Anahita as Director of Residences. “With a commitment to exceptional service and a strategic approach to asset management, this role marks the perfect culmination of my professional aspirations,” she says. For Caroline, the true value of genuine, heartfelt interactions stems from building meaningful relationships with local residents. This paves the way to create memorable experiences for guests galore.

Caroline began her career in luxury hospitality on the French Riviera serving high profile clients. She relocated to Mauritius in 2013 as the sales manager of Holiday Inn Airport Hotel. “I instantly fell in love with life on the island,” she says. “It synced with my principle of nurturing an environment with the beauty of nature and harmony, which is essential to fostering peace among residents.” The turning point in Caroline’s career was when she transitioned into property and asset management for one of the island’s largest developers. From working with the largest mall operator, to managing mixed-use property featuring hotel, casino to theatres, retail spaces and offices, she has covered them all.

Despite tasting success in many of these roles, Caroline’s search for a deeper connection with the Golden Rule lay in Four Seasons. “This organisation emphasises treating others as we would like to be treated,” she shares. “It utilises its sophisticated, yet warm approach to hospitality.” Applying her diverse background in the field of property management, elevating the value of the place, and delivering innovative experiences have been at the forefront of Caroline’s tenure with Four Seasons.

The secret to her passion lies in the understanding of local culture, preferences and landscape. “Not to mention, the pristine beaches and the exotic culinary delights,” she adds, with a laugh. Resilience and adaptability are the two things that she leared from scratch, thanks to her life on the island that helped her acquire valuable traits in the dynamic hospitality industry. “That makes me determined to ensure a seamless and enjoyable stay for the homeowners and guests, regardless of challenges,” she says, aiming to leverage technology and integrate sustainability without compromising on luxury. “After all, hospitality is all about every little detail!”
