Four Seasons Hotel Mexico City, Dustin Yellin and Tequila 1800 Celebrate the City’s Artistic Community
Four Seasons Hotel Mexico City, in alliance with Tequila 1800 and the renowned Californian artist Dustin Yellin, is displaying the work 50% Banana through April 2024.
50% Banana is a piece that is part of Dustin's signature Psychogeography series, a collection of human-like figures made with paper collage and acrylic paint, embedded between sheets of glass. He started the project in 2012, inspired by the Terracotta Warriors.
The collaboration was launched in February during Zona Maco, with a cocktail party on the Hotel’s second floor terrace that featured the artist Dustin Yellin, in the company of Walker Waugh, curator and director of Dustin's studio and the acclaimed filmmaker Darren Aronofsky. During the evening, attendees were able to enjoy an intimate conversation between Dustin and Darren, where they talked about the artist's creative process and inspiration. Guests enjoyed canapés and a welcome drink inspired by Dustin's work, prepared in collaboration with the experts at Tequila 1800 and Fifty Mils.
The works Dustin created for the Tequila 1800 Essential collection seek to inspire viewers by celebrating the diversity of the world and exploring the complexities of identity, natural balance and the real meaning of life. This is reflected in the six unique bottles of 1800 Blanco Tequila intervened by the artist, which took different names: Ring of Fire, The Theia Hypothesis, Navel of The World, Gravity's Sungshot, UT Tensio SIC VIS and Daughter of The River.
With this presentation, Four Seasons Hotel Mexico City and Tequila 1800 demonstrate that they remain on trend by offering guests and visitors exclusive, world-class experiences in the heart of the Mexican metropolis.
