- With the arrival of this exhibition, signature mixology and artistic pieces converge in this bar that has become a luxury refuge to enjoy the best cocktails in CDMX
The work of German photographer Julia Fullerton-Batten has captivated the world contemporary scene thanks to the fact that her pieces have an aesthetic with elements of fantasy and pop culture, which converge in settings and expose current social problems. Now, the photographs belonging to his most acclaimed series, as well as some that have never been seen in Mexico, arrive in CDMX with an exhibition brought by LS Galería exclusively for Fifty Mils, one of the most important hotspots of mixology in Mexico.
The bar is located inside Four Seasons Hotel Mexico City, and is one of the most important conceptual bars in Latin America with a unique cocktail proposal. It is the perfect setting for this exhibition curated by the renowned Mexican gallery LS, representative in Mexico of Fullerton-Batten, with whom they carried out a selection of 11 pieces belonging to different photographic series, creating a magical atmosphere.
The exhibition is made up of photographs from the Teenage Stories series, in which the artist captures the daily problems faced by young women who reach adolescence. There are also works from the In Between collection, which highlights the transition period experienced by a young woman who leaves childhood behind to become a teenager.
In addition, pieces from one of her multi-award-winning works around the world are on display: Looking Out from Within, a series of photographs in which she captured people looking out of their window during the global lockdown due to COVID-19. These images were compiled in a special edition book that is a historical witness to the crisis that humanity experienced in 2020. The prologue was written by Marion Tande, Director of the Department of Photography at the MOMA in New York.
The artist also collaborates with media such as Vogue and The New York Times, and recently participated with a campaign at Super Bowl LVIII titled He Gets Us.
Fullerton-Batten's exhibition is open to the public from now until February 2025 at Fifty Mils, making it ideal for an afternoon full of art and cocktails. In addition to this, LS Galería has another exhibition inside the Hotel in which the icons of Mexican and international plastic art are exhibited.
It should be noted that the bar located in Reforma has just presented a new mixology menu inspired by fairy tales that make it an unmissable proposal in the capital.
With this exhibition, Four Seasons Hotel Mexico City and Fifty Mils demonstrate that they remain on trend, offering guests and visitors unique experiences.
